U.S. Mission Pakistan is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the “Equipment Operator Supervisor” position in U.S. Embassy Islamabad.

Basic Function of the Position – The incumbent serves under the general guidance of the Supervisory Manager for Building Trades and Residential Services. S/he oversees Facility Management vehicle and heavy maintenance equipment fleet operations. Supervises 9 Equipment Operators/Drivers. The incumbent plans, directs, and monitors the use and maintenance of motor vehicles and equipment and the training and assignment of Equipment Operators/Drivers. Oversees safe delivery of generator diesel fuel and potable water to off-compound residences, directs or supports maintenance of compound buildings and infrastructure, oversees delivery of equipment and supplies, and oversees transportation of staff. Ensures vehicles and equipment are operated in accordance with Department workplace and vehicle safety standards. Manages vehicle and equipment maintenance program and planning for vehicle and equipment replacement. Maintains vehicle and equipment operating logs and records. Applies sound supervisory and management principles and techniques. Oversees extensive safety program.

Qualification Requirements:

Education: Completion of higher secondary school certificate (12 years of education) is required OR Completion of secondary school certificate (10 years) and completion of vocational certificate in facility management related trade is required.

 Experience:  Minimum five (5) years’ experience related to vehicle and equipment operations and fleet management and usage including maintenance of vehicles such as street sweepers, articulating boom lifts, vertical scissor lifts, forklifts, tractors, and other heavy equipment. Out of which one year as a supervisor is required.

 Skills and Abilities: The incumbent must have ability to operate heavy maintenance equipment. Must have good organizational, leadership, negotiation, communication and writing skills. Good working computer skills to use MS Office (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook) and motor pool applications. Ability to implement compound infrastructure maintenance program including determining techniques and tactics and assigning and monitoring short- and long-term tasks. Ability to lead and supervise individuals and teams including managing the employee performance review process and training, mentoring, and evaluating. Ability to manage workflow for of scheduled and unscheduled activities through a computerized maintenance management system. Ability to train others on use of equipment and safety guidelines. Ability to communicate with customers, outside vendors and host government officials. Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as eyewear, and safety shoes. The incumbent must possess a valid Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) Pakistani driver’s license. The applicants must show proof that they have a driver's license for a minimum of five years. Skills and abilities may be tested.
