PAK WOMEN is a non-governmental organization working in areas of HAQ, AWAZ, ROSHNI and KHUSHALI programs. The organization with the support of UN Women is implementing a new project known as Economic and Social Empowerment of Afghan Women and Girls in Pakistan to Facilitate Peacebuilding. Under the project, expert or firm hiring required who will provide services for training manual and material development and facilitation of four days training of trainers (TOT) of 20 participants.

PAK WOMEN calls Request for Proposals from specialized firms/ OR Expert Individuals, who has experienced in developing of conflict resolution Skills manual and conducting four days TOT.  Those who have the experience of undertaking similar activities are invited to submit their technical and financial proposal in sealed Envelope to Manager Operations and HR, House No. 5, Street 35, G-13/2, Islamabad before or by June 5th, 2023.

1.  BACKGROUND

Pak Women- An Association of Pakistani Women, Children and Differently Able Persons, is a national NGO registered with Societies Act and endeavoring for the empowerment of community through its various interventions. A project known as Economic and Social Empowerment of Afghan Women and Girls in Pakistan to Facilitate Peacebuilding”, with financial support of UN Women/ WPHF has been initiated. Pak Women will hire services of an expert for training manual and material development and facilitation of four days training of trainers (TOT) of 20 participants. Once TOT successfully completed, then these Master Trainer will organize and conduct twenty (20) three-days leadership skills development trainings in their respective targeted locations and will reach to six hundred (600) participants, 500 displaced Afghan Women/ Girls and their 100 male allies.

To empower displaced girls and women on principles of dispute resolution, steps included in the dispute resolution process, concept of non-violence conflict resolution, mapping of conflicts from own communities, process and solution, training manuals and four-days TOT will be arranged for 20 youth who continued capacity building trainings in targeted locations/communities.

2.  OBJECTIVE OF TOT

  • Through improved topic knowledge and imparting practical experience through participatory training techniques and delivery, TOT on conflict resolution management has successfully transformed participants into master teachers. With the aid of the training handbook, TOT participants are now ready to conduct a similar training at the community level.

3.  PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF ASSIGNMENT

The purpose of the consultancy is to hire a potential training firm or expert to develop manual, training materials after training need assessment (TNA) and conduct four-days TOT of same master trainers of leadership and enhance their knowledge and skills on desired subject so that same trainings could be replicated through Community Resource Persons (CRPs)/Master Trainers (MTs) at local level to displaced Afghan women, girls and men. This means a new participant typically gets to demonstration and hands-on an experienced trainer teaches, completes the exercises, and then practice teaching segments to other participants.

As a result of attending four-days TOT, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of conflict resolution in context of peace building and as a process of peace building processes, and enable participants to demonstrate as master trainers in their respective afghan refugee communities.
  • Enhance knowledge and skills on conflict resolution skills and understand various essential and stages of conflict resolution.
  • Apply current practices in delivering a training and deliver proven facilitative skills to promote learner engagement, reflective practice, critical thinking, and skill acquisition.
  • Show mastery in delivering key training strategies commonly used; such as, brainstorming, processing/ process checks, role plays, and practice sessions
  • Use appropriate levels of intervention when managing difficult training situations, including disruptive learner behaviors.

3.1. DETAIL OF ACTIVITIES

A)   Development of Training Manuals and Materials

Prepare one conflict resolution manual for TOT as well as two manuals for field level trainings for Afghan women/ girls three days training and male allies two days training, based on findings of training need assessment, it must cover the required module and topics in detail with objectives of each module, time slots, activities and training reference materials include pre/post test, agenda, session plan, presentation, handouts and other essential materials to present information effectively, respond to participant questions, and lead activities that reinforce learning.

B)   Training Skills

Engage and prepare participants through coaching that are less experienced in training delivery with a particular topic or skill, or with training overall. A pool of competent instructors’/master trainers will be produced through four-days TOT who can then further organize and conduct trainings and teach to other participants at local level.

Key Deliverable: Consider the type and number of topics when determining how much time a training session needs, and include the following elements:

• Pre-assessment. • Pre-work. • Trainer and participant agenda. • Facilitation manual. • Modeling of the skills and topic to be delivered. • Adult learning principles. • Skill practice and feedback. • Action planning. • Planned follow-up support.

C)   Conflict Resolution Skills

The TOT will cover the topics introduction to the organization/ project/ UN Women/ WPHF, training objectives, leveling of expectations and fears, setting training rules, conflict resolution introduction and basic concepts, conflict classification and management, principles of dispute resolution, steps included in the dispute resolution process, concept of non-violence conflict resolution, mapping of conflicts from own communities, process and solutions and becoming an ally, framing innovative ideas.

4.  SELECTION OF PARTICIPANTS

The TOT group would ideally comprise of 20 educated Afghan refugees (male: 10, female: 10) who have initial training delivery skills at least and completed matriculation, are between age 18-35, more importantly have legal entity of asylum country and reside in targeted locations. Local afghan women & men will be given preference with speaking skills in Pashto, Persian an Dari

Note: Participants selection shall be done by organization; however expert support and advice can be seeking in choosing best candidates to continue and perform as master trainers. Depending on the requirement and diversity of participants, the firm/expert should develop and deliver trainings local practicing languages.

8.  PAYMENT SCHEDULE

9.  REQUIRED EXPERTISE AND QUALIFICATION

  • Should be legal entity i.e. Firm / Company (copy of incorporation / registration certificate) or Individual Expert.
  • Provide National Tax Number (NTN) and General Sales Tax (GST)/ Provincial Sales Tax (PST) (if applicable) in the name of the firm or person and provide a copy of the registration
  • Minimum 5 - 10 years’ experience of undertaking similar assignments.
  • Preferably should have ability to interact in Pushto, Dari and understand the displacement context of Afghan living in Pakistan.
  • Should have an experienced pool of trainers (Proven specialists of their respective fields).
  • Should have hands-on in participatory methods and quality delivery of training.
