The organization with the support of UN Women is implementing a new project known as “Economic and Social Empowerment of Afghan Women and Girls in Pakistan to Facilitate Peacebuilding”. 1. BACKGROUND
Pak Women- An Association of Pakistani Women, Children and Differently Able Persons, is a national NGO registered with Societies Act and endeavoring for the empowerment of community through its various interventions. A project known as “Economic and Social Empowerment of Afghan Women and Girls in Pakistan to Facilitate Peacebuilding”, with financial support of UN Women/ WPHF has been initiated. For the creation of the training manual and supporting materials as well as the facilitation of a four-day training of trainers (TOT) for 20 participants, Pak Women will acquire the services of an expert. Following the completion of TOT, these Master Trainers will plan and deliver twenty (20) three-day leadership skills trainings for displaced Afghan women/girls and 10 two days trainings for displaced Afghan men/boys as male allies in their respective districts/locations.
Peacebuilding encompasses a wide range of initiatives, from mediation, protection, reintegration, trauma healing, and reconciliation to longer-term investments in fairer access to governance, education, health, justice, security, and livelihood, the central themes of peace education, and artistic expression of participants through songs. The goal is to empower displaced girls and women on a holistic understanding of peace and conflict, engaging effectively in local peace processes.
2. OBJECTIVE OF TOT
- By expanding topic knowledge on peace building and providing practical experience through interactive training methodologies and delivery, the TOT on peace building skills has been successful in transforming participants into master instructors. With the aid of the training handbook, TOT participants are now equipped to conduct/ roll out the training at the community level.
3. PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF ASSIGNMENT
The goal of the consultancy is to engage a potential training company or expert to create training materials following training need assessments (TNA), design and conduct four-day training of trainers (TOT) for the same master trainers of conflict resolution, and improve their knowledge and skills on the desired subject so that the same trainings could be replicated to displaced Afghan women, girls, and men at the local level by Master Trainers (MTs). As a result, a new participant usually experiences demonstration and hands-on instruction from an experienced trainer, completes the exercises, and then gets a chance to practice teaching segments to other participants.
After participating in the four-day TOT, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the significance of peacebuilding and exhibit their abilities as master trainers in their individual communities of Afghan refugees.
- Develop participant’s knowledge and abilities in peace building processes, and comprehend the various components of peacebuilding.
- Use current and participatory methods for training delivery and demonstrate effective facilitation techniques to encourage learner engagement, reflective practice, critical thought, and skill acquisition.
- Demonstrate command of the most popular training techniques, including role plays, brainstorming, processing/process checks, and practice sessions.
- When dealing with challenging training circumstances, such as disruptive learner behaviors, use the appropriate degrees of intervention.
3.1. DETAIL OF ACTIVITIES
A) Development of Training Manual and Materials
Create two manuals for field-level trainings for Afghan women's and girls' three-day trainings and male allies, as well as one peacebuilding guidebook/ manual for TOT. A four-day training that is based on the results of a training need assessment must cover the necessary module and topics in detail, with each module's objectives, time slots, and activities. Training reference materials must also include pre- and post-tests, an agenda, a session plan, a presentation, handouts, and other materials that are necessary to effectively present information, respond to participant questions, and oversee activities that reinforce learning.
B) Training Skills
Engage and prepare participants who have less training delivery experience, whether it be with a specific topic or skill or training in general, through coaching. Through the four-day TOT, a pool of capable teachers and master trainers will be created, who can then organize and lead additional trainings and instruct other participants at the local level.
Key Deliverable: Consider the type and number of topics when determining how much time a training session needs, and include the following elements:
• Pre-assessment. • Pre-work. • Trainer and participant agenda. • Facilitation manual. • Modeling of the skills and topic to be delivered. • Adult learning principles. • Skill practice and feedback. • Action planning. • Planned follow-up support.
C) Peace Building Skills
The TOT will cover introduction to the organization/ project/ UN Women/ WPHF, training objectives, leveling of expectations and fears, setting training rules, peace building – a holistic understanding of peace and conflict, engaging effectively in local peace processes, peacebuilding includes a wide range of initiatives, from mediation, protection, reintegration, trauma healing and reconciliation, through to longer term investments in fairer access to governance, education, health, justice, security and livelihood, the essential themes of peace education, artistic expression of participants through songs or poetry, the attributes of a peace educator, innovative ideas action planning for field assignments and mock session and framing innovative ideas.
4. SELECTION OF PARTICIPANTS
The TOT group should ideally consist of 20 educated Afghan refugees (10 men, 10 women), who are between the ages of 18 and 35, have the legal status of an asylum nation, have finished matriculation, and live in the targeted areas. Local afghan women & men will be given preference with speaking skills in Pashto, Persian and Dari
Note: The organization will choose the participants, however it is possible to seek expert assistance and guidance when selecting the top prospects to serve as master trainers. The company or expert should create and provide trainings in local practicing languages depending on the needs and diversity of the attendees.

9. REQUIRED EXPERTISE AND QUALIFICATION
- Should be legal entity i.e. Firm / Company (copy of incorporation / registration certificate) or Individual Expert.
- Provide National Tax Number (NTN) and General Sales Tax (GST)/ Provincial Sales Tax (PST) (if applicable) in the name of the firm or person and provide a copy of the registration
- Minimum 5 - 10 years’ experience of undertaking similar assignments.
- Preferably should have ability to interact in Pushto, Dari and understand the displacement context of Afghan living in Pakistan.
- Should have an experienced pool of trainers (Proven specialists of their respective fields).
- Should have hands-on in participatory methods and quality delivery of training.
