Know our team
Nutrition International (NI) is embarking on a new project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) entitled, Effectiveness of Adolescent Nutrition Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) pilot in Pakistan. The project will support the government of Pakistan in understanding the potential to improve adolescent nutrition and equity in access to improved nutrition through the conditional cash transfer pilot under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).
The position holder will work in close coordination with country management Pakistan and will liaise with federal and provincial governments and policy makers to ensure policy level support and ownership of the project. The position holder will actively engage with the partners and support the team in reviewing technical reports and preparing periodic progress reports to be submitted to donors and NI offices.
This position holder will work in close coordination with Adolescent Health and Nutrition Senior Technical Advisor (STA), and other project staff based across country, Asia regional, and headquarters.
About you
You are someone with a Post Graduate degree in Public Health, Nutrition or a Graduate degree in medicine.
You will have a minimum of 8 years’ experience of managing research-based project implementation and coordination in development sector, preferably of health and nutrition projects. You will also come with a minimum 6 years’ experience of developing analytical project reports with a proficiency in research design, research report writing, and source analysis.
Ability to effectively communicate, network and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders, especially national and provincial governments to achieve program objectives and Fluency in English and Urdu (reading, writing & oratory skills) is a prerequisite to be successful in this position.
About the role:
The National Project Manager (NPM) will be responsible for all aspects of implementation of the evaulations and assessments and reporting of the project, coordinating the entire project cycle including the mixed-methods research, procurement and delivery, import and packaging of WIFA supplements, coordination of technical meetings and dissemination events, and will support grant management in close collaboration with Pakistan country team, Program Operations, and Global Technical Services (GTS) unit.
In this role you will:
- Develop clear project implementation plan covering all project components and ensure that annual work plans are developed for each year with clearly defined activities, timelines, and resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required for effective implementation and achievement of the deliverables of the project.
- Support implementation of the project activities and ensure that NI project staff and any sub-grantees or contractors are executing the project according to the approved project plans with high technical quality and research ethics standards.
- Provide guidance and support to the NI Pakistan team and NI’s RO and HQ research and evaluation, and monitoring, development and learning teams to develop and support the project’s monitoring, research and learning agenda.
- Financial tracking and management of all assigned project work using NI’s contracts database and project management tools.
- Contribute, as delegated, to knowledge translation documents such as policy briefs, summary briefs, blogs, and case studies related to adolescent nutrition and the project in coordination with GTS and advocacy and communications unit.
