RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Support the Climate Action Program team in key strategic partnerships with development agencies and government departments.
  • Support business development through the development of project proposals, concept notes, and grant submissions
  • Conduct Opportunity Analysis and share with the Line Manager for decision-making.
  • Analysis of ToRs document and prepare proposals, budgets, and documents accordingly
  • Develop a theory of change and project logical frameworks
  • Maintain a record of identified bids, submitted bids, organizational profile, and projects database
  • Develop and regularly update Opportunity Tracking Matrix (OTM), Project Status Matrix, and Projects’ Fact Sheets.
  • Undertake field visits to carry out field research and understand ground realities pertaining to current programs/projects and future opportunities.
  • Establish workable relations with Regional Offices under the supervision of the Line Manager.
  • Coordinate with other programs/departments, sharing knowledge and documents aiming to use in the projection of organization’s image
  • Assist the Climate Action program team in the internal and external review meetings and field visits to track the progress made in the implementation of the project and take corrective actions as required.
  • Develop knowledge products on Environment and Climate change.
  • Coordination with the other departments within the organization for the successful implementation of relevant program activities
  • Program technical assistance to regional offices and programs in the development, integration, and mainstreaming of the Environment and Climate Action activities and programs.
  • To perform any other responsibility assigned by the Supervisor/SMT

Required Skill Set:

  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent Communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload, using initiative when appropriate.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and able to motivate others.
  • Cross-cultural awareness and flexibility.

Experience:

  • University degree (preferably master’s or PhD) from an accredited academic institution in Environmental science.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a relevant position.
