Malteser International (MI) has been active in Pakistan since the Kashmir earthquake of 2005 and has been providing humanitarian aid after disasters and in crisis. Our aid focuses on healthcare, livelihood security and disaster risk reduction. Since 2014, our activities have targeted communities in the Swat and Peshawar regions (KPK province) and on various districts of Sindh province. MI has a country office in Islamabad. Currently, MI implementing a project “Life-saving and integrated health care and nutrition project for crisis-affected people in Pakistan” and a flood relief project in Sindh. Malteser International is planning to launch another primary health care project in Afghan Refugees villages and camps in KP province. Malteser International is looking for Dispensers based at BHUs.  

Your responsabilités :

• Maintain proper stock of medicine/consumables/lab items at health facility pharmacy;
• Maintain stock/bin cards of each medicine at pharmacy;
• Update stock data regularly on daily/weekly/monthly basis;
• Prepare weekly and monthly consumption reports of medicine/consumables/lab items and submit to pharmacy supervisor at project office;
• Seek guidance of medical doctor if finds some problem in reading a prescription (s);
• Regularly update MO In-charge on status of medicine/consumables/lab items consumption to avoid stock rupture;
• Arrange medicine on shelves at pharmacy in an alphabetical order;
• Ensure proper medicine storage and environment;
• Provide basic information on use of medicine to the patient/caregiver;
• Work in close coordination with CAR/DoH dispenser;
• Maintain separate registers for medicine/consumables/lab materials;
• Maintain separate registers for OPD and labour room medicine;
• Follow the rule of First In, First Out (FIFO) and First Expiry, First Out (FEFO) in medicine distribution;
• Maintain 25% of the overall stock as a buffer stock to avoid stock rupture;
• Submit drug requisition to main pharmacy duly signed by supervisor;
• Handle medical emergencies e.g. heat stroke, snake/dog bite; minor injuries/burns at health facility;
• Provide first aid and refer major medical emergencies to the THQ/DHQ hospital;
• Attend meetings convened at BHU/project office level;
• Participate in capacity building trainings organized by Malteser International or any partner organization;
• In case of an emergency/incident, immediately report it to supervisor;
• Follow proper chain of command and communication lines within organization;
• Do not leave the duty station without informing Supervisor;
• Perform any other job-related task assigned by the supervisor (s).

Your Profile :

• Qualified dispenser/medical technician from a recognized and well reputed institute in Pakistan;
• Experience working as a dispenser/medical technician at least for four (04) years with an INGO;
• A good team player;
• Punctual/regular in duties;
• Understands and speaks Pashto and Urdu and basic understanding of English;
• Ability to work under difficult circumstances;
• Honest, committed and flexible in attitude;
• Respect and practice organizational policies/rules;
• Familiar and adherence with local culture.

What we offer:

• Start Date: 15^th April 2023
• Duty Station: Above mentioned locations
• Duration of contract: 12 months (extendable 2024)
• Salary according to qualification and experience
