GENERAL SCOPE
1.1 Nutrition International (NI) is implementing an adolescent nutrition and Weekly Iron and Folic Acid Supplementation (WIFAS) project in Lodhran since 2019 to prevent anaemia in adolescent girls. This pilot is based on the globally recommended WIFAS and the Pakistan National Adolescent Nutrition and Supplementation Guideline, considering the in-school adolescent girls in actual field settings. The project is aligned with Federal’s and Punjab government’s efforts in anemia reduction for adolescent girls, starting with in schoolgirls and is being implemented in collaboration with Integrated Reproductive Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition Program (IRMNCH&NP) of Primary and Secondary Health Care Department of Government of Punjab and Education Department through District Education Authority (DEA).
