PURPOSE

The Health Field Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring the activities of the ICRC`s Health Care in Danger (HCiD) Initiative in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Newly Merged Districts in compliance with ICRC standards.

In coordination with the Health Program Manager and management of the Sub Delegation, S/he will design and oversee the implementation of the ICRC’s HCiD strategy for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The incumbent of the position shall serve in the capacity of project manager under the title of Health Field Officer.

Main Responsibilities:

  • S/he will lead the planning, coordination and monitoring of activities of HCiD Initiative.
  • S/he will analyse the environment, identify key fields requiring intervention and contribute to the design of contextually relevant interventions directed at specific target groups.
  • S/he identifies, maps and mobilize external stakeholders in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to liaise with relevant actors on current tasks, and promotes systemic legal and policy changes having an impact at local and national levels.
  • S/he will be responsible for financial monitoring of the program. 
  • S/he will report extensively on HCiD activities and will represent the program at internal and external forums.

Main Requirements:

  • Degree in medicine (MBBS).
  • Qualifications in public health or health management a strong asset.
  • Minimum seven (07) years of relevant experience in public health.
  • Good understanding and familiarity with the health system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
  • Excellent connections with local health authorities and/or group of interest for the ICRC.
  • Proven program management skills and team building competencies.
  • Excellent analytical and report writing skills.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of local language i.e., Pashtu is advantage.
