Project Background

The Government of Pakistan has designed and initiated a six-year project titled "Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Irrigated Agriculture Improvement Project (KP-IAIP)" through the PIU KP- IAIP Directorate General OFWM Agriculture Department. KP-IAIP is aligned with the National Water Policy and the KP Agriculture Policy and Strategy (2015 -25) and aims “to improve the performance of irrigated agriculture on smallholder farms in its implementation area”. The key objectives will be achieved through a) improving on-farm water management system by upgrading watercourses, introducing advanced irrigation technologies, and strengthening capacity of communities, farmers, and OFWM staff; and b) increasing agriculture productivity as well as promoting agro-processing and value addition.

Qualification Requirements	BSc Civil or Masters in Water Resource Engineering/Irrigation Engineering that caters the On Farm Water Management Scope Of Work. 4-5 years’ experience in planning and scheduling of construction activities, technical backstopping procurement of materials, allocation of resources, liaising and coordination with all relevant stakeholders, attending meetings and preparing/approving MoM. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience in ‘On Farm Water Management.
Job description	Preparation of field-based monitoring and remote monitoring tools Periodic Monitoring visits to projects sites and conduction of various fresher sessions to ensure quality of work and monitoring through the project lifecycle. Coordination with the CAD operation, reviewing the designs and submission to the Client and Field staff etc., Focal person of the project assigned by the Senior Management. Formulation of the Quality Assurance Plan. Ensure timely contractual deliverable on the projects i.e Monthly Progress Reports, Quarterly Progress Reports etc., Regular update on the physical/financial progress of the project under consideration. Responsible for raising the red flags during the implementation phase of the project. The issues could be of any nature covering technical, financial, implementation, HR/contractual etc., Frequent coordination with the field teams. Responsible for sharing the weekly tracker on the project in close coordination with the project team and sharing the same with the Senior Management at the Head Office. Regular coordination with the stakeholders etc., and organizing the meeting with the Senior Management at Head Office, if needed. Review of the contractual deliverable on a regular basis. Ensure Quality Control (Material testing) protocols and check record keeping of critical project documentation at site. Ensure availability of the technical/financial documentation at the site. The documentation shall include but not limited to Drawings/Specifications/Material testing, Reports etc., Contracts, Recordkeeping of coordination with the stakeholders. Ensure update of MIS on relevant projects and troubleshooting in coordination with the relevant specialist. Other relevant tasks as assigned by the Line Supervisor."
