Qualification Requirements

• University degree in social sciences, development studies, gender, or related field
• A minimum of seven (07) years of experience working on gender issues in development assistance projects
• Demonstrated experience with gender integration in development programming
• Experience in providing capacity building assistance to project teams on gender integration
• Demonstrated experience in designing and conducting qualitative research, performing qualitative analysis and drafting high quality reports using appropriate qualitative research techniques
• Past experience of working on gender related issues in KP (preferably NMDs) with a very good understanding of the socio-cultural context of KP/ NMDs
• Prior experience with USAID and familiarity with the ADS 205 (Integrating Gender Equality and Female Empowerment in USAID’s Program Cycle) is highly preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills required.
• Strong computer skills
• Fluency in written and spoken English. Spoken Urdu and Pashto is desirable
• Proven experience in analytical and report drafting skills

Job description

This person will report to the DCOP and will lead the development and rollout of ERDA Gender Action Plan. The Gender Specialist / Sociologist will ensure that the inclusion and gender aspects are incorporated in the activity design and the adherence to USAID’s guidelines on gender and inclusion and ERDA Gender Action Plan is ensured.

The Gender Specialist/ Sociologist will also build capacities of the activity team in mainstreaming gender in all aspects of implementation and will also contribute to the monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
