 Key Responsibilities

  • Planning, Delivery and Compliance – 10 %
    • Scoping for potential grants , collaborations and partnerships that align with LAS’s thematic areas and scope of work
    • Designing and developing business and grant proposals including narratives, LFAs, workplans and timelines
    • Scouting for potential government, non-government and corporate partners to enable LAS to leverage them to expand its outreach
    • Quality control of existing business development initiatives being undertaken by LAS
    • Networking with donors and critical stakeholders across the development sector and connect relevant/pertinent stakeholders to senior management at LAS
    • Ensure that existing projects portfolio is fully compliant with relevant donor and LAS rules, regulations, and laws, and also with the organization’s mission.
    • Ensure quality of all external reports, evaluations and communications with donors agencies
    • Proactively manage and regularly inform the Program Delivery Specialist on all and any risks arising for potential business development opportunities 
  • Collaboration and Coordination – 20 %
    • Maintains regular contact with project managers and other relevant internal teams to understand nature of work being undertaken at LAS in order to identify pertinent business development opportunities for new program or extensions of existing programs. 
  • External Relationship Management and Visibility Initiatives – 25%
    • Establishes close working relationships and creates programmatic linkages with relevant government departments, stakeholders and donors.
    • Represent LAS in key meetings with counterparts, and regularly update the CEO on emerging issues and opportunities
    • Identifies and taps into provincial, national, regional and international opportunities such as conferences, workshops , seminars to ensure LAS is represented / work is showcased.
  •  Growth and Business Development – 45%
    • Identify funding opportunities for ongoing and new projects, and take lead on business development for relevant areas including grant writing, onboarding teams etc.

  • Digital Skills: PowerPoint (exceptional), Excel (above average).

 Requirements 

  • Master in Social Science or equivalent with 3 years of relevant experience.  
  • Required advanced level of English, reading, writing for drafting Skills.
  • Creative, energetic, ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, motivation, and maturity
  • Willingness to work and live in harsh conditions.
