Z.M.K. & Co. invites applications for the Audio Visual Officer position to support the UNICEF Karachi Office in the National Emergency Action Plan for Polio Eradication. This position is purely on a contract basis with fixed salary packages.

Purpose of Assignment

The photographer/ videographer will be embedded with polio teams and social mobilizers to produce audio-visual content including success and human-interest stories.

The overall goal of the content produced by the photographer/ videographer is to increase public trust and acceptance of polio vaccination and support for the polio eradication initiative.

The content prepared will be posted on various social, mass and outdoor media platforms owned by the PEI as well as partner digital media platforms and blogsites.

The photographer/ videographer position will be an essential component of the national communication team, responsible for covering various events and activity documentation. 

Methodology

• The consultant will be responsible for photo/ video production (photography/ videography, format exporting, archiving raw, etc.).
• Produce professional-quality video/ photo footage for PEI-supported projects/activities, including emergency coverage, using an HD-quality video camera.
• Record narration/voice-over where needed according to guidance from the relevant UNICEF focal person.
• Archive the edited output in DV and DVD format, along with keeping a professional log of the same.
• Consultants will take guidance prior to and during each mission from the Communication Officer PEI or the UNICEF staff member accompanying and leading the mission.
• UNICEF will have exclusive rights to all raw and edited footage and interviews conducted during a mission.
• Due to video production credits, the consultant and UNICEF will jointly receive them when UNICEF uses the content on any forum.
• Consultants shall use their own HD quality video camera not below the specification of SONY HD NX5 or equivalent.

Deliverables – Videographer, Video Editor, Photographer

• The videographer will produce and submit B-Rolls of broadcast quality to the SMC for final production.
• The videographer will follow up with the SMC to obtain the final products.
• The videographer will keep a record of the final products
• The videographer will archive footage for campaigns and share it with the concerned when needed.
• Provide professional digital photographic coverage to Polio Eradication programme activities and campaigns, under the supervision of the Polio progamme focal person for NID / SNID, high-level visits happening in the last quarter of 2023. Produce a minimum of 25 high-resolution digital still images after completion of each mission on a clearly labeled Pen drive, with detailed captions and photo credits embedded in the metadata and copies on CD/DVD or USB Flash Drive. All Photos should be submitted with a scan consent form provided by PEI.
• Production of videos aligns with the programme’s messaging and objectives to create a profound and lasting impression on viewers.
• Enhances visual engagements, ensuring that videos maintain a high standard of quality and professionalism. Pay attention to detail, pacing, and transitions that hold the viewer’s attention. Add sound effects, graphics, and specific effects.
• Identify and highlight the human stories within the broader context of polio eradication efforts while turning facts and figures into relatable, emotionally resonant stories.

Qualifications or Specialized Knowledge/Experience Required:

• At least five years of experience in videography/ photography
• At least five years of experience in video/ photo editing
• Experience in video/ photo editing using FCP is necessary
• Consultants shall use their own HD quality video/ still photo camera not below the specification of SONY HD NX5 or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in the conception, production, and editing mini-video documentaries and PSAs.
• Experience covering social, humanitarian, and development subjects within Pakistan will be an asset.
