Temporary Contract of 3 Months with Monthly Salary of PKR 209,638/- Only

Position Obective: The Medical Officer will be responsible for management of daily patient load, general physical examination, history, diagnosis, writing prescriptions and advising patients. The medical officer will be analysing the disease trend/medicine consumption and preparation of medicine requisition.

Relevant Experience: MBBS from a recognized University/Institute with valid PMC registration and minimum experience of 1-2 years.

Job Description:

Mission 1: Ensure the Quality Clinical Care at Healthcare Facilities

The Medical Officer is responsible for:

  • Collect a complete past medical history and ongoing complains.
  • Responding to patients’ medical problems by referring to their history, carrying out diagnosis, treatment, counseling, and referral, where necessary.
  • Evaluate a patient’s symptoms and determine the most appropriate course of treatment to address them.
  • Ordering lab tests and interpreting the test results as per need.
  • Prescribe medications as per treatment protocol and inform patients of all possible risks, complications and interference with other medications they may be taking.
  • Assess mental health status with particular attention to anxiety and depression; behavioral disorders; somatic disorders; functional complaints; psychotic disorders.
  • Maintain regularly updated patient medical records that document all evaluations, medications, treatments, allergies, test results and other records.
  • Supervise Lady Health Visitors, Dispensers to ensure full compliance with regulations and make sure that the current care program is as effective as possible
  • Consult patients on topics such as proper nutrition, fitness and hygiene to assist them in making informed decisions and taking good care of their health
  • Promoting health education in conjunction with other health professionals.
  • Meeting targets set by the government for specified treatments,
  • Discussing and evaluating new pharmaceutical products with pharmaceutical representatives.
  • Keeping up-to-date with medical developments, treatment, and medication.

Mission 2: Reporting, monitoring and evaluation

The Medical Officer is responsible for:

  • In collaboration with Health & Nutrition Officer, and PM, conduct regular  review meetings – (on program outcomes and supervision)
  • Report operational bullet-point as part of the monthly activity report for PM to follow up on capacity building, key activity issues, including recommendations
  • Ensure capitalization and learning of program documentation, case studies and success stories in collaboration with Health & Nutrition Officer and PM.
  • Contribute to the setting of a standard monitoring and evaluation databases for programs, in close collaboration with the PM, MEAL department.

Mission 3: Network and coordinate with the relevant sectors:

The Medical Officer is responsible to:

  • Establish good Relationship with the Health care facility staff and the Hospital Admin, DHO office.
  • Establish a network with the other actors in the working area (I/NGOs and DOH)
  • Respond and coordinate properly with Health & Nutrition Officer representing ACF.
  • Establish a good understanding of the program within the community.
  • Establish good coordination with patients coming for health services.

Mission 4: Additional Tasks:

The Medical Officer is responsible for:

  • This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive and the employee will perform other related tasks as required and responsible for reporting and communication of progress and achievement of the specific assigned task.
  • Inform ACF Health & Nutrition Officer and Project Manager any Technical problems encountered related CMAM/CMAMI Program.

Mission 5: Ensure compliance with ACFs gender equality, child protection sensitivity and safeguarding policies

The Medical Officer is responsible for:

  • Read and ensure a full understanding of ACFs Gender, Child Protection and other safeguarding policies  
  • Implement all work related activities with a gender, inclusion and child protection lens
  • Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability

Skilss Required:

  • MBBS from a recognized University/Institute with valid PMC registration and minimum experience of 1-2 years.
  • Ability and willingness to autonomously travel to duty site/ health facility and villages when required.
  • Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long distance walking to work/distribution sites.
  • Excellent spoken and written local language /Urdu and English language skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
    Preference:
  • Experience in closely working with DOH and Tehsil/District HQ Hospitals and at health facility level is advantageous.
  • Previous experience working in clinical setting is an asset.
  • Ability to prepare weekly and monthly program reports.
  • Candidates will be preferred who belong to ACF-intervention areas/UCs district.
