Project Details in short:
National NGO is implementing Community Engagement in WASH for UNOPS in District Tank. The purpose of the program is to support the government’s efforts in increasing access and improving the quality of girls’ education (at lower secondary). National NGO will assist the UNOPS in executing community engagement activities and conducting post-monitoring to enhance efforts aimed at reducing waterborne diseases through behavior modification in WASH.
Job Description:
- Prepare activity implementation plan and discuss the required resources to undertake the activity
- Ensure the community participation the project activities
- Form / re-organise Community Based organizations (CBOs) male/female
- Conduct Village mapping/profiling through different PRA tools (i.e. is BBCMs, Mapping/profile, conflict resolution wealth ranking etc
- Mobilize community and orient project and organisation’s mandate
- Work with community members to map and prioritize community needs
- Identify and organize appropriate capacity building, and technical resources to support project implementation
- Ensure efficient and effective implementation of Food Security, Livelihoods, Cash transfer related interventions at community level.
- Write regular weekly, monthly and other reports (as per suggestion and need)
- Facilitation and support in conducting the awareness sessions
- Mobilize community groups, sensitize and train them on specific topics as required, organize and facilitate meetings.
- Follow the Social Mobilisation guidelines of IDEA and implement it at community level.
- Perform other duties as requested by the line supervisor
- Prepare daily field visit reports after commencing the visit in the field
- Prepare and submit weekly progress report well on time
- Prepare any other reports when required/asked by the supervisor
- Actively participate in staff meetings
- All the activities should be performed according to the standard procedures of the organization and donor
- Prepare work plans and implement them to achieve the milestones outlined in the project detailed implementation plan and prepare reports accordingly
- Provide progress report to line manager along with variance and reasons for variance on weekly basis
- Assist the Monitoring & Evaluation team in all required data collection.
- Ensure Project Manager is updated with all the relevant project aspects
- Keeping close coordination with community, local teachers Male/Female, religious leaders and community leaders.
- Ensure quality pictures and attendance list of all the participant in the activities/events. Exchange ideas and experiences with management and other team members
- Maintain a collegial environment at workplace.
- Conduct Focal Group Discussions (FGDs) in the targeted area to find out the conflicts and resolving them.
- To seek guidance from Supervisor/ Program Manager in case of any problem in the assigned work.
- To perform any other related task as and when assigned by the supervision.
Qualification and Experience:
- Masters/Bachelor degree in Social Sciences or equivalent
- At least 2 year experience in relevant field.
- Ability to motivate community regarding active participation in project activities
- Ability to work individual and in team harmoniously with problem solving attitude
- Ability to meet deadlines, achieve results and work with minimal day to day supervision
- Fluency in local and National languages
- Preferably computer literate specially in MS Offices
- Must be willing to travel in the community and meet different groups
- Poses good communication, interpersonal and reporting skills
