U.S. Mission Pakistan is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the “Chauffeur ( ODRP)” position in the U.S. Embassy Islamabad.

 Basic Function of the Position –The incumbent operates fully armored vehicles and unarmored vehicles to transport senior military officers, US Government and Military delegations. The incumbent maintains daily trip logs and performs instant corrective and preventive maintenance/repairs on assigned vehicles. Performs courier duties for Office of the Defense Representative-Pakistan (ODRP) to deliver and/or receive official documents to the various host nation military and non-military organizations. Responsible for the cleaning of vehicles daily and minor emergency repair work such as changing a flat tire and conducts operator level maintenance, such as changing light bulbs, replacing wiper blades, and maintaining proper fluid levels. The incumbent assist supervisor to create schedules, update trackers, order vehicle items and filling different requests.

Qualification Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:

  Minimum three (3) years of professional driving experience is required.

EDUCATION: Completion of secondary school certificate (10 years of education) is required.

Job Knowledge: The incumbent should be familiar with Islamabad/Rawalpindi streets, traffic regulations, local traffic patterns, and multiple routes to key locations. Should have general familiarity with routes throughout Pakistan. The job holder should have basic computer knowledge to check emails, draft incident, other reports, assist with schedules and service records updates and request expendable items for the vehicles.

Language: Level III (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing in English and Urdu is required. English language skills may be tested.

Skills And Abilities: The incumbent should be routinely required to use common sense in deciding when to exercise evasion actions or Anti-Terrorism driving techniques. Should be familiar with policies and procedures are dictated by the threat environment and can change quickly. Should be able to adapt quickly to the changes. Should have basics computer, admin, and clerical skills to update and maintain all records. Valid Pakistani driver's license HTV (Heavy Transport Vehicle) is required to be able to operate light and heavy-duty vehicles including fully armored vehicles. Applicants must show proof that they have a minimum of five years of licensed driving experience. Skills and abilities may be tested.
