Job Description

  • Assist in the development and implementation of M&E frameworks and systems to track project progress and impact against set indicators and targets.
  • Support data collection and analysis related to educational access, quality, and resilience, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Participate in field visits and assessments to verify data quality and gather qualitative insights into project effectiveness.
  • Assist in establishing mechanisms for collecting feedback from project beneficiaries and facilitating participatory feedback sessions with communities.
  • Support monitoring compliance with project guidelines, standards, and ethical principles.
  • Aid in facilitating reflection sessions with project staff and stakeholders to document key learnings, best practices, and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in coordinating the dissemination of learning products and case studies internally and externally.
  • Support capacity-building initiatives on M&E and learning for project staff, partners, and community members.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning, preferably within the education sector or related development programmes.
  • Understanding of M&E principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Basic proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in English and Urdu; knowledge of Pashto would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites within DIK, Swat, and Nowshera.

The MEAL Assistant will support the MEAL Officer in strengthening the evidence base for project interventions, facilitating learning and adaptation, and ensuring accountability to project beneficiaries and stakeholders. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the resilience and inclusiveness of education systems in Pakistan, ultimately improving outcomes for marginalized children and communities.
