Overview

Jhpiego is seeking services of qualified Social Mobiliser for the “Flood Emergency Response Project” to be implemented in 04 districts of Sindh.  The project aims to provide healthcare (Preventive and curative and primary healthcare) services to the population residing in flood affected areas through mobile camps and static centers by adopting integrated approach with other programs.

The hiring of local social mobilizers will be helpful for community engagement, raising awareness, improving access to healthcare, promoting community participation, and ensuring cultural sensitivity in healthcare interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-camp surveys to assess the needs and demographics of the target area.
  • Establish connections with local community leaders, religious figures, community organizations, health workers, nearby health facilities (both government and private), and local law enforcement agencies to garner support and ensure community participation.
  • Display banners, posters, and banners at prominent locations.
  • Distribute Information IEC materials among the community.
  • Utilize various communication channels, community gatherings, and local events to promote the camp and raise awareness.
  • Identify suitable and easily accessible venues for communities, arrange necessary equipment and supplies, and ensure accessibility for participants.
  • Disseminate information about health issues, preventive measures, and available services during the camp.
  • Assist in managing patient flow and queuing systems to ensure smooth operations and efficient service delivery during the camp.
  • Provide post-camp follow-up support, including monitoring and evaluation activities, and addressing any lingering health concerns or questions within the community. Provide primary healthcare services to displaced populations in selected areas through mobile camps and static centers.
  • Provide support to technical staff in conducting community awareness sessions on primary prevention, such as immunization, maternal and child health, and communicable and non-communicable diseases, as well as mental health.
  • Supervise and provide training to the community, establish women support groups, and liaise with Lady Health Workers (LHWs) in the area to promote health awareness.
  • Collaborate closely with local vaccinators and the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) office to enhance routine immunization, reach refusals, and provide vaccination to zero-dose children.
  • Maintain profiles of villages and Social Mobilizer formats.

Required Qualification and Skills:

  • Matriculation or above.
  • Local from selected areas of interventions.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a social mobiliser.
  • Must be resident of allocated district (from the selected areas of intervention is plus point).
  • Experience of same type of assignments will be a plus.
  • Proficiency in local language and report writing skills
  • Knowledge of reporting formats.
  • Good communication skills.
