Project Summary

Pathfinder International in partnership with the governments of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is implementing a women-led climate resilience project locally named ‘Surmi’ in five districts of Sindh, namely Badin, Umerkot, Sanghar, Kamber Shahdadkot, and Thatta, and one district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa- Charsadda.

The Surmi project intends to enhance climate resilience in communities, particularly among women and girls. This includes 1) working with health systems to make them more resilient to emergency shocks, particularly floods and drought, and 2) bolstering resilience of women in communities by improving enabling factors for greater agency such as livelihoods (through entrepreneurial skills that are market-specific such as agricultural/ livestock/ cottage industries etc.), health (FP/MNCH, WASH, nutrition), referral linkages with public and private support systems, community/ safe spaces, financial literacy/ inclusion, gender mainstreaming, and awareness and attitudes (health-seeking behaviour, climate-specific awareness/ responsiveness, community leadership).

The following are key project objectives:

1.To empower women and girls in low-resource communities with the tools, knowledge, networks, and resources to survive and thrive through todays and tomorrow’s health needs and crises.

2.To build resilient, adaptable quality health systems able to meet the primary health needs of low-resource communities and withstand emergency shocks.

3.To develop an integrated collaboration, learning and adaptation framework providing support for implementation and evidence for decision-making, advocacy and social good.

Job Purpose

The Takeda project is looking to recruit a creative, motivated, and experienced short term Field Supervisor responsible for coordinating and supervising identification, selection and recruitment process of Climate Champion from District Charsadda, Khyber PakhtunKhwa. This role involves collaborating with partner organization, overseeing field visits, and ensuring compliance with project guidelines and objectives. Field supervisor will work closely with District Coordinator -Charsadda.

Supervision of Field Activities

The Field Supervisor is entrusted with ensuring quality process of identification, selection, and recruitment of individuals with the potential to become Climate Champions within their communities. This involves not only overseeing these activities but also actively coordinating with sub awardee.

External and internal coordination

Collaborate with sub awardee and co-develop field visit plan, planning for smooth and rapid recruitment of climate champions. Serve as a liaison between project and partner organizations regarding field operations and activities. Along with build strong coordination with project team and share progress in real time.

Record and report writing

Ensure the inclusion of reports by maintaining accurate records and documenting field activities and outcomes.

Minimum Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of progressively responsible experience in field work.
  • Demonstrated understanding of climate change issues and sustainability principles.
  • Strong coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Education and Work Experience:

  • Proven experience in fieldwork, preferably in environmental or climate-related projects.

  • Country-Specific Public Health System: Basic understanding of Pakistan’s public and public-private health systems.
  •  Community Relations: Intermediate skills in facilitating working relationships between project teams, donors, partners, government officials, and communities.

  • Software Applications: Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Languages: Proven writing and speaking skills using English, Pashto and Urdu.
  • Communication and Influencing Skills: Proven ability to influence others through diplomacy and proven oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-Management and Teamwork:Ability to work independently or as a member of a team, ability to thrive in a matrix organization, ability to be detailed-oriented, and ability to manage stress effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality on work-related matters.
  • Time management: Manage time wisely and prioritize workload in a creative environment where interruptions are common
