Overview of the Position:

Based in Islamabad, the Analyst role at DAI Pakistan is a unique opportunity for an individual to contribute to our mission of driving positive change through innovative development projects. As a vital member of our team, he/she will support the identification, pursuit, and capture of new business opportunities while gaining valuable experience in the international development sector. In a collaborative team setting, this role will work closely with others but also autonomously with little direction. Superior analytical, quantitative, and conceptual thinking skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills will ensure successful business opportunities and team performance.

The role will include gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. It will also involve opportunities to present results to management and implement recommendations in collaboration with team members. The candidate is expected to gain new skills and build on the strengths they bring to the organization. Employees receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues and senior leaders on their teams.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and emerging trends in the development landscape.
  • Support the development of high-quality proposals and concept notes by contributing to technical approach, methodology, and staffing sections.
  • Prepare compelling marketing materials, presentations, and other collateral to enhance our visibility and engagement with clients and partners.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to gather insights and inputs for proposal development, ensuring alignment with client requirements and objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of business development activities, including opportunity tracking, client interactions, and competitor analysis.
  • Assist in the coordination of business development events, such as workshops, webinars, and networking sessions, to promote our services and expertise.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, funding opportunities, and donor priorities to inform strategic decision-making and business development efforts.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of business development processes and tools, sharing lessons learned and best practices with the team to enhance our effectiveness and efficiency.

Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills, Languages.):

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Development, Public Policy, or relevant field.
  • Prior internship or coursework in business development, marketing, or related areas is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong analytical and research abilities, with the capacity to distill complex information into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Adaptability and a growth mindset, with a willingness to learn and embrace new concepts and tools related to business development.
  • Outstanding record of academic achievement
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytics.
  • Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with people at all levels in an organization.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing – in English and Urdu.
