PMS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Economic Affairs Division (EAD), Government of Pakistan valid till August 2024. We are certified as NPO as per evaluation standards notified by FBR with Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy. Pak Mission Society has reached and served the unreached communities regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, class, religion, and social background. The organization catalyzes holistic transformation and development through transparent, fair, and rights-based allocation of humanitarian and development efforts.

Pak mission Society looking to hire the services of an individual consultant(s)/reputable firms with experience in enterprise development to design and conduct enterprise development training in KP.

Background

Pak Mission Society (PMS) is in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to support Afghan refugees in KP to implement the project "Livelihood Improvement & Vocational Skill Trainings with job-placement and market linkages." The initiative aims to enhance the livelihoods and skills of Afghan refugees, particularly focusing on forcibly displaced Afghan Refugees which have physical challenges. The project targets 200 beneficiaries for vocational training, including 60 individuals in entrepreneurship and business development. Additionally, PMS plans to offer 40 small grants to support "Home-Based Business" initiatives. Job placement assistance will be provided to 70 Afghan youth, and two events/conferences will be organized to promote livelihood opportunities. In addition, to support Afghan Refugees of Turkmen RV with the installation and operationalization of the carpet weaving business model would also be provided. This center will be owned and sustained by the Turkmen RV refugees with the social support of PMS.

 

Objectives of the Assignment

Expected results of Entrepreneurship, Business Development and Enhancement

Bythe end of thetraining,trainees should beableto:

·       Understand and discuss the basic concepts of business and relate it to their future business.

·       Understand and discuss the steps involved in enterprise establishment and development.

·       Know the techniques of feasibility survey and market survey.

·       Know the importance of linkages and able them how to create productive linkages.

·       Identify the economic opportunities that are prevailing in the commercial market and plan how to start a business.

·       Maintain records of day-to-day transactions.

·       Equip the trainees with the technique of how to run a successful enterprise

·       Develop and execute effective business strategies.

·       Utilize advanced sales and marketing techniques to acquire and retain customers.

·       Demonstrate proficiency in financial management, including budgeting and resource allocation.

·       Generate innovative ideas and execute successful product development strategies.

·       Access resources, funding opportunities, and support networks for entrepreneurship.

 

Methodology

 

The focus will be on conducting three separate five-day training sessions, each with a batch of 20 participants. Throughout the sessions, interactive methods such as group assignments, local context examples, and interactive presentations will be employed to engage participants actively. Case studies will be utilized to bridge theoretical concepts with practical application, supporting deeper understanding. The trainer's role will involve ensuring ample opportunities for discussion, practice, and experience sharing among participants. The approach will be highly participatory, empowering attendees to actively engage with and apply the taught contents in their respective contexts.

 

Key Tasks of the Assignment:

 

After signing the contract, the Trainer will be responsible for the following tasks:

 

1.      Capacity building of beneficiaries on various aspects of business: planning a business, business management, Marketing Plan & Management, Production/Operation Plan & Management, and Financial Plan & Management.

2.      Conducting three 5-day Entrepreneurship, Business Development, and Enhancement training sessions, each with an average participation of 20 beneficiaries.

3.      Preparation of individual business plans for each training participant.

 

Deliverables include:

Ø  Training curriculum and materials (e.g., presentations, handouts, exercises).

Ø  Training schedule and agenda.

Ø  Evaluation framework and tools.

Ø  Progress reports outlining activities conducted, outcomes achieved, and challenges encountered.

Ø  Final report summarizing the training program's impact, lessons learned, and recommendations for future interventions.

 

Timeline:

The collaboration between the Organization and the Consultant/Firms entails a division of responsibilities aimed at ensuring a seamless and productive training experience for all participants:

 

1. Organization's Responsibilities:

Ø  Arrangement of training venue conducive to learning and engagement.

Ø  Provision of lunch, refreshments, and necessary stationery for Entrepreneurship, Business Development, and Enhancement training participants.

Ø  Management of other related expenses essential for the smooth conduct of the training sessions.

 

2. Consultant/Firms' Responsibilities:

Ø  Arrangement of boarding, lodging, and travel logistics to reach training venues in Peshawar or other districts in KP.

  

3. Payment Terms:

 

Ø  Payment will be disbursed upon successful completion of the assignment and submission of the comprehensive training report, ensuring adherence to all contractual obligations.

 

4. How to Apply:

 

Technical and financial proposals from the interested consultant/ firms outlining how they meet the selection criteria and their understanding of the ToR (may include Similar or relevant experiences of working. Their understanding of conducting Enterprise Development Training (EDT) and similar types of activities in livelihood especially for PWDs and PWSNs in KP Pakistan.

• A summarized description of the scope of work, the intended methodology to be used, and a tentative work plan including activities and time frames.

• Names and contacts of three recent professional referees (previous clients) for whom similar work has been conducted.

• An example of similar pieces of work completed recently.
