Job Description:

Organizational Context and Scope

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and direct supervision of the Senior Programme Coordinator in IOM Pakistan and the Project Manager, the Data Processing Assistant position requires to be stationed in the field, with frequent travels to the districts and target communities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Baluchistan provinces, and will be responsible for deliverables as per the following sections:

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Ensure provision of high quality OPD Consultations in the assigned health facility.
  • Ensure provision of clinical care for stabilization purposes and expedited referral services for patients who need healthcare beyond the capacity of IOM medical team.
  • Strengthen epidemic surveillance and response in the assigned health facility.
  • Actively engage with the health facility management to ensure adequate and relevant scope of Primary healthcare service delivery to beprovided by IOM Mobile Medical Team.
  • Provide administrative supervision and technical guidance to all the staff assigned to the mobile medical teams including nurses/LHVs/Community health worker/dispenser/vaccinators.
  • Ensure that all daily beneficiary information is captured in the clinic OPD records and ready for daily/weekly reporting ands support the team  and  the field team leads in  setting up weekly, monthly and quarterly CMEs, workplans with clear objectives and delivery timeline
  • Coordinate closely with internal and external partners to promote and ensure harmonization of IOM medical response activities.
  • Organize trainings for health workers at health facilities, and Ministry of Health staff on key topics including IPC and IDSR
  • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures, guidelines and other technical documents for referral and response.
  • Identify procurement and logistics needs for strengthening PHC service delivery capacities of assigned health facility.
  • Coordinate and provide trainings for IOM national health staff on emergency preparedness and response
  • Represent IOM at coordination meetings with key stakeholders such as other UN agencies, local government, donors and other stakeholders to promote delivery of best practice in an emergency response setting. 
  • Develop/adapt training material on infection prevention and control (IPC) and integrated disease surveillance and response (IDSR) and Ensure correct documentation procedure, with regular reporting to IOM and other  relevant structures  (e’g  DHIS,,sector etc)
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Education and Experience :

  • Degree in Medicine with Five years of experience
  • Pakistan Medical and Dental Council Registration
  • Supervisory training and/or experience is a distinct advantage.
Languages :

REQUIRED:

  • Fluency in English and Urdu is required (oral and written).

 DESIRABLE :

Working knowledge of Pashtu, Dari or any other local language/s .
