1-     PROJECT SUMMARY

Secours Islamique France (SIF) is currently implementing the UNHCR-funded project, "Livelihood Improvement and Vocational Skills Trainings," aimed at enhancing the lives of Afghan refugees residing across 14 Refugee Villages in 8 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Buner, Malakand, Dir Lower, Dir Upper, and Chitral Lower). The project focuses on improving the livelihoods of the target refugee community through vocational skills training, provision of tools and inputs, and capacity building to foster self-reliance and enhance livelihood opportunities.

As part of the project, SIF is now seeking to recruit consultants/ firms who will conduct a 5-day entrepreneurship development training for 15 Afghan refugees 5 males and 10 females in different refugee villages of District Mardan. The consultants/ firm will play a crucial role in imparting the necessary knowledge and guidance to enable these individuals to effectively manage their businesses. Additionally, they will provide valuable career counselling to help the beneficiaries make informed decisions regarding their professional paths. The ultimate goal of this training program is to empower Afghan refugees by enhancing their entrepreneurship skills and improving their future career prospects.

2-       PROJECT-SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

  • Refugees who have increased access to livelihood opportunities lead to a higher number of self-reliant refugees.
  • Opportunities for decent work for refugees are created through livelihood programming and the establishment of sustainable market linkages alongside community outreach to increase female participation.

3-     TIME DURATION

The assignment will last for 5 days and will involve training 15 individuals.

4-     TRAINING OBJECTIVES

  • By the end of the training, trainees should be able to:
  • Understand and discuss the basic concepts of business and relate it to their future business.
  • Understand and discuss the steps involved in enterprise establishment and development.
  • Know the importance of linkages and able them how to create productive linkages.
  • Identify the economic opportunities that are prevailing in the commercial market and plan how to start a business.
  • Maintain records of day-to-day transactions.
  • Equip the trainees with the techniques of how to run a successful enterprise.

5-     TRAINING PARTICIPANTS’ TRADES

  • Grocery stores
  • Home-based small shops

6-     TRAINING METHODOLOGY:

The combination of methods includes interactive lectures, role plays, group discussions, pictorial handouts, review techniques, brainstorming, case studies, practical exercises, and group work making the training course distinctive.

7-     DELIVERABLES

  • Development of Training Manual
  • Delivering Enterprise development training
  • Business plan development of each beneficiary
  • Submission of Training Report.

8-     TRAINING CONTENTS

Following are the indicative contents of the Enterprise Development Training (EDT). However, the consultant may suggest some additional related items that may augment the overall purpose of this training.

9-     ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. a.     Secours Islamique France (SIF) Pakistan:

                    i.      Finalization of the list of trainees for EDT.

                   ii.     Training Venues will be finalized with mutual understanding and venue/hall charges will be paid by SIF.

                 iii.     SIF staff will ensure the trainee's attendance at training and the travel cost of participants to the training venue will be charged by SIF.

                 iv.      SIF staff will carry out regular monitoring/feedback visits to the training venues.

                  v.      SIF will ensure the visibility of the activity and will help the consultant in developing visibility banners for this activity.

                 vi.      SIF will bear the cost of design and printing of training completion certificates.

  1. b.     Consultant/Resource Person Responsibilities

                    i.      Consultant will arrange well-equipped training for 15 participants in different trades.

                   ii.     Consultant will design training manual/modules for participants.

                 iii.     Consultant will provide all the pre-designed training learning materials in hard copies

                 iv. The consultant will develop a business plan with each participant.

                  v. The training period will be five days and the timing will be from 09:00 am to 04:00 pm.

                 vi.      Consultant will award a training completion certificate to each successful trainee after successful training completion.

                vii.      Consultant will make sure of attendance record of trainees daily

              viii.      Consultant will submit original copies of attendance sheet to SIF for financial procedures.

                 ix.     Consultant will be responsible for conducting pre and post-evaluation of the participants.

                  x.     Consultant will submit a comprehensive training report with pictures at the end of successful training completion.

                 xi.     Consultant will deliver the training in the local language within the specific time frame.

10- REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Consultant/Consultant should have in-depth and strong knowledge of Business Management/ Enterprise Development activities especially in KP. Having working experience with Afghan refugees will be an added value.
  • proven knowledge of the social & development sector particularly in the fields of capacity building and knowledge about local issues regarding business development.
  • Consultant/Resource person having at least 5-10 years of proven successful experience in training particularly community-level capacity development training of enterprise development.
  • Fluency in Pashtu/ Urdu /English

11- PAYMENT

The consultant will be paid for technical assistance for undertaking the assignment according to the submission and approval of the set deliverables.

12- TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Quoted prices for the above items shall be inclusive of all kinds of govt. taxes and duties as per prevailing Tax Laws of Govt. of Pakistan.
  • All prices must be quoted in Pak rupees.
  • Withholding tax & and GST as per government prevailing rates shall be deducted at the time of payment.
  • Payment shall be made in two instalments (50% after submission of Course Content/ Modules, and agreement signing, 50% after training completion, and report submission.
  • The payment will be disbursed in the form of a cross cheque within three weeks after execution and subsequent submission of the invoice to the SIF (Pakistan).
  • SIF reserves the right to reject any or all quotations without assigning any reason thereof.
