U.S. Mission Pakistan is seeking applications from qualified individuals for Warehouse Worker position in U.S. Consulate General, Karachi.

Basic Function of the Position – The incumbent is responsible for safe handling, storage, and inventory of both expendable and non-expendable items. The incumbent is also responsible for moving supplies, equipment, and furniture between the warehouse and offices and residential building. The position is in the General Services Office and under the supervision of the Expendable Storekeeper.

Qualification Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Minimum two (2) years of experience in manual labor or warehouse work is required.

EDUCATION: Completion of primary school (5 years of education) is required.

Job Knowledge: The incumbent is required to have good working knowledge of conducting inventory and stacking of items/equipment; maintenance and efficient usage of warehouse storage space. Knowledge of simple hand tools and/or power tools. The incumbent must be familiar of warehouse operations, procedures, United States Government (USG) safety and security standards. Incumbent must also have good working knowledge of maintenance and efficient usage of warehouse storage space.

LANGUAGE: Level I (Rudimentary knowledge) Speaking/Reading of English and Level II (Limited knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking of Urdu is required. English language skills may be tested.

Skills And Abilities: The incumbent must have ability to physically perform loading and unloading and must be able to handle heavy objects smoothly and efficiently. Must be able to lift a maximum of 51 lbs. (23kg) under Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. The incumbent must have the ability to use warehouse tools and safely operate equipment such as forklifts, hand trolleys, electronic lifters etc. and must be able to perform assign tasks in all types of weather, and environmental weather conditions to include at times severe cold, extreme heat, wet or dry weather conditions, and high winds. Skills and abilities may be tested.
