THE ROLE:

The selected candidate will support the implementation of the Better Cotton programme in Punjab Pakistan. The Project Coordinator will provide coordination support to two critical components within the Better Cotton Standards System: Assurance and Capacity Building.

Key accountabilities

The Project Coordinator will be expected to look after the implementation of project activity plans across the project region under guidance of Project Manager and with the support of Technical Trainings Specialist within CABI Pakistan on Better Cotton. He/She will also be responsible but not limited to;

  • Work under the guidance and supervision of Project Manager and Technical Trainings Specialist.
  • Prepare the detailed plan for implementation of Better Cotton Standard System (BCSS) as per approved KPIs of the project.
  • Building capacity of field staff including Producer Unit Managers, Field Facilitators, Women Trainers and Women Village Trainers for implementation of Better Cotton Standard System (BCSS) and Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) at Better cotton farming community.
  • Ensure the achievement of KPIs settled for the project in terms of number of farmers trained, qualified cotton acreage and tonnage of seed cotton production with the help of field team.
  • Ensure the most possible effective and efficient utilization of activity wise allocated budget available in project to perform the approved activities.
  • Ensure the on time collection, credibility and quality of all types of data as with required parameters by organization/ donor including lists of farmers, workers (male and female), Result Indicator data, utilization reports etc.
  • Produce the success stories, blogs and activity details as the result of introduced interventions.
  • Develop and implement a roadmap for the sustainability of interventions/Producer Units in the project.
  • To carryout monitoring and evaluation activities while visiting the sites and conducting the review and feedback sessions at office and to ensure the implementation of Corrective Actions in their true spirit.
  •  Ensure the necessary documentation and trainings record maintenance at project level.
  • Prepare and submit all types of reports including activity, monthly highlight, and quarterly, mid-term and end year reports as required by organization/ donor within the given timelines.
  • Conduct the Credibility Checks for Producer Units on behalf of Implementing Partner and reports preparations.
  • Organize and conduct meetings, workshops, seminars, visits, and briefings as and when required.
  • Contribute towards publishing science-oriented work in renowned peer reviewed journals.
  • Any other assignments required for satisfactory completion of the key role requirements.

ABOUT YOU

  • Expert knowledge of cotton production technology and administrative activities.
  • Highly skilled in facilitation, motivation and communication
  • Proficient in developing village level policies and plan for producer units.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of experimental protocol optimization
  • Good track record of research demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications in renowned journals
  • Self-motivated

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Master’s degree in Agriculture preferably in Agronomy, Entomology, or any related field.
  • Ideally, preference will be given to candidates having 3-4 years of relevant experience with the certificate of Training of Facilitators (ToF) and having experience with Farmer Field School (FFS) approach, Better Cotton Standard System (BCSS) will be given preference.

ROLE DETAILS

HAY BAND: 4

Reporting to: Project Manager

Contract Duration: 11 months including 3 months’ probation period.

Key Peer group: Project Staff

Direct reports: Producer Unit Managers

Salary Range: 120,000 PKR to 150,000 PKR (Gross)
