Terms of Reference

THE ORGANIZATION:  The Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) was incorporated on February 06, 1997 as a non-profit company, limited by guarantee (not having a share capital), under Section 42 of the Companies Ordinance 1984 (revised in 2017). According to its Memorandum of Association, its purpose is “helping the poor, land-less and asset-less in order to enable them to gain access to resources for their productive self-employment, to encourage them to undertake activities of income generation and poverty alleviation and for enhancing their quality of life.”

Since the last 22 years, PPAF has established itself as a leading contributor to poverty alleviation efforts. It has presence across 147 districts, encompassing all provinces and regions of Pakistan and partners with 137 local Partner Organizations, on the basis of shared core values to reach the poorest communities. All its programs are implemented through these partners.

Over a period of two decades, it has organized over 134,500 community Institutions with a focus on gender, diversity, and Inclusion. PPAF recognizes poverty as a complex and multidimensional challenge. Its theory of change seeks to leverage social capital to empower communities, create opportunities and build sustainable infrastructure to help the poor in Pakistan sustainably graduate out of poverty. following are some of the other achievements to achieve the PPAF’s objective/s:

  • 38,900 health, education, water and infrastructure projects completed.
  • 2,460,000 interest free loans provided under Interest Free Loan Program (54% women beneficiaries)
  • 8.4 million micro credit loans provided to with 60% loans to women and 80% financing extended to rural areas.
  • Productive assets transferred 196,400 to ultra and vulnerable poor (64% women) in 60 poorest districts across the country.
  • 1.56 million individuals provided skills & managerial trainings (49% women)
  • Facilitated 1.8 million households with disaster relief and recovery assistance.

THE POSITION:  He/She will be located at provincial capital/s and reports to Provincial Coordinator.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE POSITION:

Assist Provincial Advisor/Coordinator in day-to-day affairs in developing and establishing strong and effective liaising, networking, relationship, and image building at the Provincial level with Provincial Government departments, Donors and Communities. The Position holder will provide assistance to the Provincial Advisor/Coordinator in organizing meetings with Provincial Stakeholders at various platforms at Provincial and District level.

MORE SPECIFICALLY:

  • Assists Provincial Advisor/Coordinator in establishing and maintaining liaison with the Provincial Government, Political Leadership, and other Provincial Stakeholders.
  • Makes arrangements for Coordination meetings with the Provincial Stakeholders.
  • Assists in the preparation of presentations to highlight/showcase PPAF’s work, to the Provincial Government and impact of its interventions/investment.
  • Assists Provincial Advisor/Coordinator in overseeing monitoring plans of PPAF supported interventions.
  • Assists in managing PPAF’s Provincial Office.
  • Ensures correct and timely update of PPAF’s MIS.
  • Ensure systematic and safe upkeep of office records.
  • Assists Provincial Advisor/Coordinator in day to day affairs.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an overseas or HEC recognized institution in Pakistan on Social sciences public administration; law or any other relevant discipline with, at least 03 years of relevant work experience in administrative assistance.

SKILLS

Interpersonal: Communication, Verbal and non - verbal effective communication..

Planning: Ability to accurately estimating time and effort required to complete a task

Teamwork: Ability to be an effective team member and drive to make the team a success

Working knowledge of MS Office Suit and MIS.

Selection Method:

The consultant will be hired as per PPAF Procurement Guidelines.

Payment Terms:

The selected candidate will be paid 125,000/- (exclusive of taxes) per month.

Duration: Six Months (Extendable)
