Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan is looking for competent Dental Hygienist in Karachi Region.

Routine Tasks:

• Prepares patient for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming and seating patient. Briefs patient on profession of dental hygiene and scope of practice.
• Updates medical history of patient, highlighting significant information for staff and dentist review.
• Documents dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories and charting inpatient records.
• Selects appropriate materials and equipment for dental hygiene services and infection control.
• Evaluates patient's oral health by taking the necessary radiographs and completing periodontal and dental charting.
• Administers prophylactic treatment by the scaling (removing deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins) and polishing of teeth. Provides fluoride treatment as needed.
• Instructs patients in oral hygiene technique, answering patient questions and providing other educational information relevant to oral hygiene.
• Provides associated administrative support, including maintaining patient documentation, patient communication and other record-keeping.
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
• Coordinate, facilitate and participate in community oral health education program as required.
• Coordinate and facilitate in school health screening program.

Education, Experience, Skills and Competencies

• Diploma in Dental Hygiene
• Associate of Sciences in Dental Hygiene

• Dental Hygiene Written Exam.
• 1 – 2 year related experience
• Strong ability to organize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to manage workload.
• Must be capable of educating patients
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and detail oriented.
• Ability to work in shifts as per the assigned clinic requirement.
