Job Description:

Organizational Context and Scope :

Under the overall supervision of the Protection Coordinator and the direct supervision of the National Protection Officer,the incumbent will support the coordination and monitoring of the provision of protection services through ImplementingPartner organizations of IOM’s emergency response to the flood crisis and Afghanistan crisis in Pakistan.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

  • Assist in coordinating the work of implementing partners (IPs) in the implementation of specialized protectionservices.
  • Provide capacity-building sessions to IPs on general protection, protection mainstreaming principles, gender-based violence (GBV), child protection (CP), counter trafficking (CT), safe referral pathways, prevention of sexualexploitation and abuse (PSEA), data protection and other relevant topics.
  • Assist the National Protection Officer in coordination and monitoring of timely and safe implementation ofspecialized protection services in line with IOM’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work plans and projectobjectives, including through weekly and monthly project tracking and reporting tools.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor service delivery, conduct periodic meetings to discuss challenges, ad hocfollow-ups, as well as identifying challenges and capacity-building needs of IPs.
  • Consistently and accruatly collect and compileing
  • information and data shared by IPs on project achievementsand enter them in relevant tools, databases and information management (IM) systems to facilitate monitoringand reporting, in line with data protection principles.
  • Contribute to continuously strengthen the capacities of IPs by providing training sessions on identified gaps incapacities.
  • Support the Protection Unit with other specialized tasks at Country Office-level and activities, upon request,including but not limited to conducting field visits, key informant interviews (KIIs), focus group discussions,awareness raising sessions and other activities.
  • Assist with other tasks, as needed

Required Qualifications and Experience:

EDUCATION :

  • Bachelors or Equivalent or Higher degree in development studies, political sciences, social sciences, genderstudies, law, human rights or other relevant field from an accredited academic institution with 3 years of relevantprofessional experience.
  • High School Degree/Certificate in the above relevant fields with 5 years of experience.

EXPERIENCE :

  • Experience working on general protection, child protection (CP), gender-based violence (GBV) , includingworking in direct contact with beneficiaries.
  • Previous experience in protection information management is an assest.
  • Understanding of the protection sector in Pakistan, its challenges, priorities and existing referral pathways, anddemonstrated knowledge of principles applying to safe referrals.
  • Good experience in providing technical guidance and capacity building on general protection, GBV, CP and othercross-cutting issues.
  • Understanding of critical issues around data protection principles and knowledge of safe, confidential and ethicaldata collection, processing and analysis.
  • Advanced computer skills and literacy (MS Word, Power Point) and proficiency in Excel.
  • Knowledge of the Afghanistan crisis in Pakistan and understanding of issues related to Afghan migrants and hostcommunities in Pakistan.

SKILLS :

  • in depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; and,
  • Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
  • Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.

Languages :

REQUIRED:

  • Fluency in English and Urdu is required (oral and written).

 DESIRABLE :

Working knowledge of Pashtu, Dari or any other local language/s .
