Job Summary:
This position is being advertised for an anticipatory project, with the duty station to be based in either Islamabad or Lahore.
1- Women & Girls Strategy Development & Policy Review (30% of the time):
- Review existing women & girls related policies, plans, procedures and protocols in the targeted tehsils/villages of BCC project, and assist in the development of a comprehensive strategy free of women & girls bias and protection and promotion female participation.
- Manage, supervise and guide the consultants in developing women & girls friendly and sensitive BCC schemes, material, campaign, modules, and tools in the target tehsils/villages.
- Ensure that all BCC campaigns, interventions and training programs encourage maximum participation of females and are responsive to the needs of female beneficiaries, with focus on women health, hygiene promotion, education, and economic empowerment.
- Assist in the development of women & girls-focused training modules to integrate females in the behavior change programs.
2- Design & Supervision of Women & Girls Sensitive Interventions (25% of the time):
- Develop a comprehensive women & girls mainstreaming strategy of BCC project interventions and Action Plan to achieve the set targets and ensure that such plans are inclusive of women & girls related safeguards as per the guidelines.
- Manage, supervise, and guide consultants and project teams in developing women & girls friendly and sensitive BCC schemes, materials, campaigns, modules, and tools.
- Ensure all BCC interventions encourage maximum participation of women and girls.
- Promote integration of female perspectives and needs into project activities, focusing on health, hygiene promotion, education, and economic empowerment.
- Ensure all project communications and outreach activities are inclusive and culturally sensitive.
3- Women & Girls Focused Training & Capacity Building (20% of the time):
- Assist in the development of women & girls focused training modules to integrate women into behaviour change programs.
- Provide technical guidance to trainers and field staff on women & girls mainstreaming and female engagement.
- Support the Training & Capacity Building Specialist in delivering inclusive training sessions that address gaps and promote female participation.
- Ensure that training materials, manuals, and tools reflect women & girls equality principles.
4- Women & Girls Monitoring & Data Support (20% of the time):
- Support the M&E team in establishing baseline indicators for project activities.
- Assist in collecting, analyzing, and reporting women & girls specific data to measure outcomes and impact.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of women & girls interventions and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Document lessons learned and good practices related to women & girls mainstreaming in BCC programs.
5- Other responsibilities as assigned: (05% of time)
- Any other tasks or responsibilities based on organizational and programming needs as assigned by the Line Manager.
A) Qualifications (Know How)
- A university degree in Gender Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, Environmental Sciences or a relevant discipline.
B) Experience/ Technical Skills
- 12 years of relevant work experience in matters related to women & girls mainstreaming and in the preparation of women & girls action plans.
- Preferably, experience of working in similar projects/assignments (related to WASH), in similar capacity, with international donors, and in organizations with comparable conditions.
- Experience in WASH, education, health, or rural development projects.
