Z.M.K. & Co. invites applications for the position of Gender Desk Officer for UNDP Pakistan’s “Rights-Based Community Stabilization Project” in District Khyber.
Background
UNDP Pakistan’s Decentralization, Human Rights & Local Governance (DHL) Project implements the Rights-Based Community Stabilization Project to support sustainable community-based disengagement and reintegration of vulnerable youth. The project strengthens community resilience through psychosocial support, skills development, awareness-raising, and engagement with local leaders, academia, and civil society.
Purpose of Job:
To manage the Gender Desk, facilitate access to services for vulnerable women, girls, and transgender persons, promote the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda, and strengthen linkages with safeguarding institutions, referral pathways, and essential services.
Job Description (Summarised):

Lead planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Gender Desk and women-focused interventions.

Develop work plans and integrate the Gender Desk at district level.

Promote community participation in coordination with line departments and civil society.

Link women advisory groups, peer groups, and rehabilitation support groups to improve service delivery.

Disseminate information on safeguarding, human rights, and available services.

Organize meetings/workshops between Gender Desk, SWD, and government institutions.

Identify and register women in need, maintain confidential case files, and follow up on referrals.

Provide orientation to field staff and communities on gender-sensitive approaches.

Maintain records, contribute reports, and track progress of gender desk activities.

Any other duties assigned by SWD and UNDP.
Eligibility Criteria:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Sociology, Political Science, Journalism, Education, or related discipline from an HEC-recognized university.

Experience: Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in gender programming, social development, or community outreach, preferably in rural or conflict-affected areas. Coordination with government departments, NGOs, and civil society platforms is required. Previous experience in newly merged areas is an asset.

Strong understanding of gender equality, social inclusion, and women’s empowerment.

Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Ability to work under pressure, travel to field locations, and adapt to challenging environments.
