Qualification Requirements
|
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable university. Additional qualification in Business administration, Economics, Marketing or Development studies will be an added plus. (Master’s preferred).
- 3–4 years of proven experience in the civil engineering consulting industry covering business development, networking and partnership building, technical proposal writing, public sector/donor communication and technical oversight of engineering sector projects
- Demonstrated prior experience with EOIs and technical proposal preparation.
- Exposure to AI tools and a strong IT skillset, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management systems, is essential
- Strong knowledge of GOP and provincial line departments, donor agencies (ADB, FCDO, UN, EU, World Bank, etc.) and their proposal requirements.
- Excellent English writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills to develop competitive proposals.
- Effective networking, relationship-building, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Job Description
|
The following summarize the key responsibilities. AiD reserves the right to further amend the TOR in light of emerging priorities.
- Strategy and communications
- Collaborate with senior management and sector team to develop new business strategies and help ensure that agreed targets are met
- Participate in external events to represent AiD and develop partnerships for business growth
- Build and maintain industry relationships to help identify strategic business opportunities in the national and international markets.
- Market Intelligence and Pre-Proposal Efforts aimed at:
- Opportunity tracking and competitive landscape assessment
- Partnering with national and international players
- Bid planning and pre-positioning
- Scoping trips, research and intelligence-gathering
- Preliminary design and recruitment efforts
- Proposal/ Bid Development
- Proposal management
- Partnership management
- Lead the brainstorming and development of technical approach/methodology and other technical sections. This will entail working closely with the sector team and a network of partners
- Engage with cross-sectoral teams to contribute to multi-sectoral proposals as needed.
- Manage the proposal recruitment process
- Assist the Finance team in strategizing and developing competitive cost proposals
- Quality assurance and compliance
- Resource Development
- Lead and support resource development and capacity building efforts, including developing new business resources, tools and systems, as needed.
- Specialist data base development covering multiple areas of focus
- Mentor, build the capacity of and provide oversight to staff to strengthen their knowledge around new business strategy and activities.
- Develop and cultivate relationships with subject matter experts, technical writers and other new business resources.
- Support company knowledge management efforts.
- Institutional Partnerships
- Assist the senior team in devising and implementing the networking and partnerships strategy to help advance business development efforts;
- Support the development of cross-sectoral partnerships
- Schedule and coordinate networking and business development meetings in support of AiD’s initiatives and partnership strategy and assist with managing partner relations
- Develop partner agreements/ MOUs/ association agreements
- Prepare presentations for potential partner organizations and clients
- Marketing Materials
- Lead the content updation for the company’s marketing materials including brochures, introductory flyers, website, and social media.
- Other tasks
- Other tasks may be assigned by the management in light of emerging needs
