Job Summary
The Social Mobilizer will be responsible for community engagement, mobilization, and facilitation of project activities under the Green Church Initiative. Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the incumbent will work closely with churches, youth, women, and community members to ensure effective participation, ownership, and implementation of project interventions related to creation care, climate resilience, and community mobilization. The position requires regular field presence and coordination with stakeholders to ensure quality delivery of activities in line with PMS policies and donor requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Mobilize churches, youth groups, women, and community members for project activities
- Facilitate community meetings, FGDs, awareness sessions, and consultations
- Support formation and functioning of Green Church Committees
- Assist churches in implementation of Community Climate Mitigation Plans (CCMPs)
- Support organization of trainings, seminars, plantation drives, and advocacy events
- Ensure inclusion of women, youth, children, elderly, and persons with disabilities
- Maintain attendance sheets, field reports, and activity documentation
- Support monitoring, feedback, and learning processes
- Ensure adherence to PMS safeguarding, child protection, and code of conduct policies
Job Specifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, or related field
Work Experience:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in community mobilization or development sector
Skills and Competencies
• Community mobilization & facilitation skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Understanding of faith-based and community-led approaches
• Ability to work in rural and urban field settings
• Cultural sensitivity and teamwork
