Background: Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P) runs one of the largest not-for-profit private healthcare systems in the country, with a focus on the regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Sindh. Its core focus includes initiatives for hard-to-reach populations through services like outreach clinics, training of community midwives to provide low-cost health services in remote areas, screening for non-communicable diseases, and digital health solutions.
Position Summary: Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan is looking for a competent Technician base at Aga Khan Hospital, Gilgit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Repair and maintain Solar system and Batteries including cleaning of solar panels.
- Ensure all electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems are functioning safely and comply with organizational and national safety standards.
- Respond promptly to complaints and emergencies.
- Repair and maintenance of Electric boilers, Chiller and other HVAC equipment.
- Responsible for the operation and oversight of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems and equipment.
- Install new electrical systems, fixtures, sockets, lights, wiring and plumbing as required.
- Support installation of hospital equipment requiring electrical connections.
- Assist in upgrading and improving existing electrical and plumbing infrastructure.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly preventive maintenance (PM) of MEP systems.
- Maintain PM schedules for Equipment.
- Record PM tasks and submit reports to the supervisor.
- Assist in monitoring generator operation, fuel levels, oil, and routine servicing.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance during power outages.
- Ensure smooth functioning of UPS systems and emergency backup lighting.
- Ensure all work complies with safety protocols and technical standards.
- Identify potential hazards and report them immediately.
- Follow organizational safety guidelines when handling electrical tools and equipment.
- Maintain logs of completed work, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Report major faults, risks, and required replacements to the supervisor.
- Assist with inventory updates of electrical tools, materials, and spare parts
Qualifications & Experience:
- DAE Electrical or Mechanical
- Minimum 1 year experience
- Strong technical skills in fault diagnosis and repair including plumbing works.
- Familiarity with hospital electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems (preferred).
- Ability to read diagrams and schematics.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- High attention to safety and detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, especially during emergency breakdowns.
