U.S. Mission Pakistan is seeking applications from qualified individuals for Chauffeur (Marin Security Guard) positions in U.S. Embassy, Islamabad.
Basic Function of Position: The incumbent is responsible to operate an armored vehicle for the assigned Department in the US Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan. The incumbent is also responsible for the cleaning department vehicles daily, performing preventive maintenance checks on vehicles prior to operation, and reporting any vehicle related issues to the supervisor. The incumbent safely transport as required during prescribed times and ensure compliance with the Travel and Events Notification System directed by Regional Security Office.
Qualification Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Minimum three (3) years of driving experience is required.
EDUCATION: Completion of Elementary School Certificate (8 years of education) is required.
Job Knowledge: The incumbent should be thoroughly familiar with Rawalpindi/Islamabad routes to key locations. Should have general familiarity with traffic laws/regulations, traffic patterns and with routes throughout Pakistan. The incumbent should be knowledgeable on accessible routes, authorized locations, hospitals, essential areas.
LANGUAGE: Limited knowledge Speaking/Reading/Writing in English and Good working Knowledge in Urdu are required. English language skills may be tested.
Skills And Abilities: The incumbent should be able to diagnose and handle preventive maintenance and first-echelon automotive repairs. Ability to detect vehicle defects and report them immediately to authorities concerned. Should be able to quickly and calmly evaluate risks and alternative actions always assuring the maximum safety of the passengers. Should have ability to deal with high level officials in a relaxed and competent manner and be able to drive in an evasive manner during any imminent contingencies or time of crisis. The incumbent is required to be available throughout their shift and able to manage time constraints given by various amounts of obligations. Must possess a valid HTV (Heavy Transport Vehicle) driver’s license to be able to operate light and heavy-duty vehicles including fully armored vehicles. Applicants must show proof that they have a minimum of five years of licensed driving experience. Skills and abilities may be tested.
