Job Summary
Under the overall supervision of the GBV Project manager, the GBV Case worker will be responsible to implement all GBV prevention, response and risk mitigation activities in the specified areas of 10 Rvs of 5 districts of Balochistan. The GBV associate in alignment of UNHCR’s protection and GBV policies will work closely with key stake holders, referral partners, service providers and community structures to support GBV case management services and improved access to specialized services for GBV survivors.
The following outlines the key roles and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Coordination and Referrals:
- Mapping and updating the existing referral pathways to specialized GBV services
- Conduct referrals to specialized services, including legal, medical, protection, livelihood and GBV services and follow ups.
- Coordinate with the GBV officer, relevant stakeholders, GBV working groups, and on-the-ground partners to establish linkages and inter-agency referrals,
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the UNHCR GBV unit regarding GBV activities, ensuring the provision of necessary services to GBV cases.
GBV Case management
- Awareness on UNHCR GBV SOPs and Case Management guidelines
- Safe Identification and disclosure of GBV cases during awareness raising sessions, community gatherings or referrals
- providing specialized GBV case management services to GBV survivors.
- Ensure that referrals are made in a timely and effective manner to the right service provider
- Implement GBV prevention, response and risk mitigation activities
- Upon completion of GBV case management process, submit Incident report forms (IRF) Note for the File (NFF) and GBIMS to GBV officer for review and further submission to GBV unit UNHCR.
- Conduct risk assessments, including safety and accessibility audits, in all locations hosting Afghan nationals to identify potential protection concerns and inform additional support options, as needed.
Emergency Response & Crisis Intervention
- Seek support from GBV Focal person for providing immediate crisis intervention in urgent GBV cases.
- In consultation with GBV Focal person support safety planning for survivors, including emergency relocation options when needed.
- Coordinate emergency response services during high-risk cases.
Community Engagement & Awareness
- Conduct community outreach sessions to raise awareness about GBV risks, prevention, and available support services.
- Conduct gender mainstreaming sessions/trainings with other thematic committees including education, livelihood, WASH and energy within the RVs.
- Close coordination with and capacity building of Ovs, CCs and care takers of WGSS on GBV prevention, response and risk mitigation activities
- Engaging men and boys in GBV prevention strategies, addressing harmful gender norms.
- Strengthen community-based protection mechanisms and support groups for at-risk individuals.
- Engaging women and girls’ in project activities including awareness raising sessions, MSPSS sessions, international women day, 16 days of activisms, case management etc. in Women and Girls Safe Spaces of all 10 RVs
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Prepare regular reports on the progress of GBV activities for UNHCR-GBV Unit.
- Maintain accurate and secure case records, promoting data protection and confidentiality.
- Contribute to regular project monitoring, including beneficiary feedback mechanisms and project reporting.
- Facilitate feedback mechanisms to address beneficiaries' concerns and adapt service delivery accordingly.
