The Position:

The MIS officer will work under supervision of MIS Coordinator and Program Manager for proper functioning of Malaria Information System (MIS). The position is required to support MIS system and process for data cleaning, validation and analysis. Support to MIS coordinator and Program manager in presenting data analysis and provide guidance and training to the MIS team. The position will also be required to ensure proper data management and technical functionality of reporting system.

               

Significance:

The position is expected to play significant role in progress presentation of project in term of quantitative achievements of overall targeted districts. It may not just do data management but would also be working to extract malaria trend analysis, consumption of AMDs,  stock management and reflection on malaria case management.

MIS Officer must ensure:

  • Regular coordination with field teams and follow up for report submission and data cleaning matters. A part from that perform his/her duties under supervision of project manager/coordinator and provide data if/when required by line manager.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Collect required data on Malaria Incidence from district teams on weekly/ Monthly basis. And maintain proper receiving log.
  • Maintain and keep MIS and DHIS2 updated as per donor requirement.
  • Make sure that FM2 reports from districts are received within cut-off dates and review and validated as per requirement of MIS.
  • Ensure provision of data to MIS Coordinator for PUDR.
  • Regularly coordinate with district concerned staff for data submission and cleaning.
  • Maintain databases as per the requirement of MIS data.
  • Review and ensure proper reporting of case management as per national treatment guidelines.
  • Perform any task assigned by the Manager or Coordinator.
  • Ensure that up-to–date and appropriate data tools are in place at all levels for smooth and timely flow of requisite monthly data from field to provincial office.
  • Cross validate the FM3 data for inconsistencies before submission of data to MIS Coordinator as per timeline.
  • Ensure that demographic and service delivery data in the MIS and DHIS2 are complete and accurate at all levels.
  • Provide regular feedback to logistic team on logistic part, stock outs, expiry and the supply of AMDs and other commodities as per result of MIS stock analysis.
  • Assist Project Manager and MIS Coordinator in data analysis and preparation of monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Provide feedback to district teams as well as senior management if/where capacity issues (related to data management) identified and suggest specific actions for improvement.
  • Cataloging of hard copies as per DHIS-2 with correct serial numbers, indexed for non-functional/not-reported centres, compiled and bound district/month-wise, clearly filled with proper comments, and FM1 register images renamed and organized in folders for one-click access and final database sharing

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Fluent spoken and written English, Urdu, Pashtu and Balochi
  • Knowledge and work experience in Baluchistan will be an added advantage.
  • Database management experience preferably GF projects related
  • Proven problem solving and organizational skills, flexibility and calm under pressure and difficult security conditions.
  • Good communicator including report and proposal writing skills
  • Good team worker; able to live and work closely with the team

Experience and Education:

A minimum of a bachelor's degree accompanied by 2-3 years of experience in the role of an MIS/Data Management Officer.
