Job Description:
To co-facilitate training and capacity-building initiatives for media fellows and journalists at national and provincial levels, supporting the development of training materials, practical exercises, and media content. This role involves strengthening media advocacy efforts, fostering networking opportunities, and ensuring effective stakeholder coordination. Additionally, the role includes monitoring and reporting on training outcomes and media impact to continuously improve engagement strategies.
Main Responsibilities
- Co-facilitate training sessions for media fellows and journalists at both national and provincial levels, ensuring active participation and engagement.
- Assist in the development and refinement of training modules, presentations, and interactive learning materials tailored to the needs of media professionals.
- Support practical exercises, case studies, and group discussions to enhance participants' skills and knowledge retention.
- Contribute to the creation of training materials, guides, and toolkits to equip media professionals with relevant tools and resources.
- Assist in content creation for various media formats, including articles, reports, and media advocacy pieces that align with gender-focused media objectives.
- Support media fellows in developing their reporting, storytelling, and ethical journalism practices, fostering their growth as effective communicators.
- Engage with journalists, editors, and media organizations to strengthen advocacy efforts and broaden the reach of the fellowship program.
- Collaborate closely with national and provincial partners to ensure the smooth implementation of training activities and alignment with program objectives.
- Facilitate networking opportunities for media fellows to connect with key stakeholders, fostering long-term professional relationships and collaboration.
- Document key insights and feedback from training sessions, compiling comprehensive reports on the outcomes and areas for improvement.
- Monitor media coverage and evaluate the impact of fellowship activities, providing recommendations for enhancing future training and media engagement strategies.
- Assist NCSW’s advocacy efforts by preparing meeting minutes, project summaries, briefing notes, and other relevant documentation for internal and external communication
- Carry out any other task assigned by the supervisor
