The Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan is seeking a seasoned and Dynamic Assistant Manager Supply Chain for its Karachi Region.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Vendor Management:

  • Manage procurement of medical consumables, equipment, furnishings, and facility-related supplies.
  • Develop and maintain a qualified vendor base; conduct vendor evaluations and performance reviews.
  • Ensure cost-effective purchasing through competitive bidding, negotiations, and market benchmarking.
  • Work closely with clinical, biomedical, and facilities teams to define procurement specifications.

Construction Bidding & Contracting:

  • Coordinate the end-to-end bidding process for hospital construction, renovation, and expansion projects.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQ), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and tenders in collaboration with project and engineering teams.
  • Evaluate contractor bids based on compliance, cost, capability, and timeline.
  • Liaise with legal and finance teams to finalize contracts and ensure contractual compliance.
  • Monitor vendor adherence to contract terms, delivery schedules, and quality standards.

 Logistics & Supplier Coordination:

  • Coordinate the timely delivery and installation of equipment and construction materials.
  • Monitor transportation, warehousing, and on-site delivery processes for capital items.
  • Resolve supply chain disruptions in coordination with internal departments and external partners.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure procurement and contracting activities comply with hospital policies, legal guidelines, and healthcare regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for all procurement and construction-related transactions.

Cost & Process Optimization:

  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and identify process improvements in procurement and construction sourcing.
  • Support budgeting and cost estimation for new infrastructure or facility upgrade projects.

Maintain and update procurement plan for all projects (with budget V/S actual)

  • Responsible to maintain and update the procurement plan for all procurement activities in the coordination with the end user.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s /master’s degree in business administration, social science, civil engineering, healthcare management, or a related field.
  • MBA in supply chain management or postgraduate diploma in supply chain Management/operations will be preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience, preferably in hospital supply chain or construction procurement roles.
  • Expertise in hospital procurement and healthcare vendor management.
  • Understanding construction project cycles, civil and MEP services, and tendering processes.
  • Proficient in using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) for procurement and contract workflows.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
