Title: Senior Field Officer
Reporting to: Project Manager

Summary of Key Functions
The Senior Field Officer will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the field operations, including community-based protection (CBP) activities, while assisting the Project Manager in overseeing field officers and CBP officers. This role will focus on ensuring smooth communication, collaboration, and effective implementation of project activities, with an emphasis on ensuring that all field staff are aligned with the programme’s goals. The Senior Field Officer will provide technical support and guidance to the field teams to ensure quality services and interventions at the community level.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Field Coordination: Act as the main point of contact between the Head Office and the field teams, ensuring effective communication and coordination between CBP officers, field officers, and the Programme team.
- Support Implementation: Assist the Project Manager in ensuring that project activities are implemented effectively in the field. Provide guidance to the field staff on how to handle challenges in the execution of their tasks, ensuring consistency across operations.
- Ensure Alignment of Activities: Work closely with CBP officers and field officers to ensure that the project’s goals, objectives, and strategies are followed during implementation. Help ensure that the interventions meet quality standards and donor requirements.
- Provide Technical Support: Offer technical advice and problem-solving assistance to field staff on issues related to case management, community protection, and the overall implementation of activities.
- Monitor Field Activities: Track the progress of field operations, ensuring timely and effective delivery of community-based protection activities. Assist in reviewing the quality of activities, documentation, and case management to maintain programme standards.
- Liaise with Stakeholders: Coordinate with other partners, local community leaders, and external organizations to ensure that the project activities align with local needs and priorities. Help ensure that the community is engaged and that their input is integrated into ongoing project implementation.
- Reporting: Assist in gathering data, documentation, and field-level reports for submission to the Project Manager. Provide feedback from the field to inform decision-making and adjustments to project strategies.
- Capacity Building: Support the training and development of CBP officers and field officers, offering guidance and feedback to strengthen their skills in community-based protection, case management, and reporting.
- Data Management and Monitoring: Ensure that all data from the field is collected accurately, documented appropriately, and submitted to the M&E team. Support the tracking of project outputs and ensure data integrity for reporting purposes.
- Community Participation: Promote community engagement and ensure the integration of marginalized groups (e.g., women, youth, PWDs) in all project activities.
- Problem Resolution: Support field teams in resolving operational challenges by identifying issues, coordinating with the Project Manager, and assisting in implementing solutions.
Qualification & Experience
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, or related field.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in field coordination, community protection, or refugee assistance, particularly in supporting field teams and ensuring effective project implementation.
- Field Knowledge: Strong understanding of community-based protection principles, case management, and the specific needs of vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities and persons with specific needs.
- Skills: Excellent coordination, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and with various stakeholders.
- Language: Fluency in English and Urdu is required. Knowledge of Dari or Pashto is an advantage.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and knowledge of data collection or project management software is a plus.
- Personal Qualities: Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to handle pressure in the field. Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying solutions.
