General mission

The School Leader having minimum bachelor’s degree in social science or education, with additional certification/training in education, and at least two years of teaching experience with any reputed institute or NGO in NFE set up will support HI’s Non-Formal Education program in the field. The School Leader will report to the Education Officer / Project Manager.

Missions / responsibilities

Mission 1 : Education Services

The School Leader will :

  • Serve as a key member of the education in emergency component for out of school Afghan Refugees Children residing in Refugee Villages through initiating door step educational facilities to catch the missing years of schooling.
  • Carry out mapping exercise of out of school children in targeted RVs.
  • Establish, orient and engage Parents- Teachers council in enrollment campaign and NFE Center improvement plan.
  • Initiative social action activities at NFE center level to bridge NFEC and community.
  • Actively support educational initiatives at community level to ensure children protection and safeguarding.
  • Establish effective coordination with HI MHPSS team and with relevant stakeholders in targeted RVs.
  • Provide technical support to NFEC Teachers in execution of lesson plan and catching syllabus.
  • Provide constructive feedback to NFEC teachers on gray areas and arrange face to face session for improvement.
  • Conduct regular classroom observation visit and document it on specialized tool.
  • Ensure that supplies/ project resources are effectively used for students’ benefits.
  • Develop and collect students profiling, baseline assessment of students, and quarterly students’ assessment report.
  • Monitor teachers & students’ attendance and compile monthly statement.
  •  Represent the project activities in local level network / forums.
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor.

Mission 2 : Data & Reporting

  • Compile data at the end of every month for all the ALP Centers and community engagement activities and share with the education officer / Project manager and MEAL unit.
  • Regular reporting of academic and recreational activities and share lessons learnt in the field, prepare case studies and success stories pertaining to education for every quarter and/or as required.
