The Health & Safety Accord (Pvt) Ltd. engineers will be an integral part of the Pakistan Accord team in Pakistan, working under the supervision of the Chief Safety Officer - Pakistan Accord and CEO or their assigned representative.
Pakistan Accord staff engineers will be based in the Accord offices in Karachi and Lahore. They will spend a significant portion of their time in the field and at workplaces within their assigned areas. Accord staff electrical engineers are essential to the practical execution of safety inspections, remediation, verification, and technical consultation components of the Accord.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct factory inspections in accordance with the Pakistan Accord Building Standard.
- Produce inspection reports following Pakistan Accord protocols.
- Provide engineering support for the Accord inspection and remediation program, as well as training initiatives.
- Offer engineering support to factory, worker, and brand representatives.
- Assist Accord leadership with scheduling and coordination with contracted inspection companies to ensure efficient inspection schedules.
- Organize communications and work among brands, owners, workers, and Accord leadership concerning inspections and remediation/corrective action plans.
- Conduct necessary follow-up inspections to ensure remediation plans are finalized within Accord timeframes.
- Alert Accord leadership to issues, obstacles, or challenges related to the finalization and execution of remediation/corrective action plans derived from Accord safety inspections.
- Liaise as needed with the Accord training and complaints handling departments.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by Accord leadership.
Qualifications and Skills:
Ideal candidates should have:
- Bachelor's degree (BE/BSc) in Electrical Engineering.
- At least 3 to 5 years of demonstrated work experience in Electrical Design, Audit & Inspections, preferably in the garment and textile industry.
- Strong knowledge of relevant national and international standards and codes.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in technical report writing.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with relevant engineering software and tools.
- A high level of professionalism, integrity, honesty, strong work ethics, and commitment to the goals of the Pakistan Accord.
