JOB DESCRIPTION

The District Program Officer will be responsible for implementing the ICRC supported PRCS programs and services in the district, with a focus on disaster management. He / She will work closely with local authorities, communities, and stakeholders to reduce disaster risks, respond to emergencies, and promote resilience.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement district-level plans for PRCS led programs, including disaster management, first aid, community development and health services.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, develop contingency plans and implement DRR activities to reduce disaster risks in the district.
• Coordinate with local authorities and stakeholders to respond to emergencies, provide humanitarian assistance, and support relief efforts.
• Build relationships with local communities, promote humanitarian values, and raise awareness on disaster management and health services.
• Train and capacity-build local volunteers, stakeholders, and communities on disaster management, first aid, community development and health services.
• Monitor and evaluate PRCS led program activities, track progress, and provide reports to PRCS Provincial and District Branches.
• Collaborate with local authorities, NGOs, and stakeholders to leverage resources, expertise, and support for PRCS programs.
• Support fundraising efforts, identify potential donors, and contribute to proposal writing for district-level programs.
• Manage and maintain the relief stores and warehouse at district level, and submit monthly updated records to the District and Provincial Branches.
• Be the Focal Person for the ICRC supported programmes in the district.
• Any other task assigned by the Management. 

Qualification

• Master degree in Social Sciences, preferably in Disaster Management (from recognized University)

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of practical experience (outlined below), preferably in Humanitarian Sector with strong skills in program management, emergency responses and reporting.

Competencies

• Fluency in Urdu, English and Pashto.
• Flexibility to travel to conduct field visits for coordination purposes
• Good command on Microsoft Office (word, excel & power point)

Domicile

KP (preference will be given to local candidates)

Salary

PKR 90,000/- per month
