They are providing services to their clients to make significant strides in promoting sustainable development, aiding the federal and provincial government in SDGs attainment, and establishing itself as a reliable provider of efficient services for development programming around Climate Adaptation, Basic Service Delivery and Energy Efficiency, Operational since 1999. The client is part of the Sri Lanka Multi-Country Office in the Asia Pacific Region.
Background Information - Job-specific
This project aims to support good health and wellbeing, along with safe water and sanitation. This will be achieved through improved medical waste management infrastructure across Pakistan, in coordination with the health authorities. The project will be managed by CBC/CTG client and involve collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure successful implementation.
Through this project, CBC/CTG client is meeting the request of the health authorities in Pakistan. The project will be implemented in close collaboration with the client of CBC/CTG, who will manage the related procurement of equipment.
Functional Responsibilities:
The Civil Engineering Technician - Incinerator Civil Works Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the construction of incinerator room’s civil works. This role involves providing technical support, ensuring quality and timely project delivery, and maintaining compliance with project standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construction Supervision and Management:
○ Oversee daily construction activities of the incinerator civil works.
○ Implement and maintain quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures, including stage testing, verification, and documentation.
○ Monitor construction progress, ensuring adherence to project schedule, budget, and quality standards.
○ Conduct regular inspections to assess the quality of workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
○ Verify contractor compliance with project requirements and manage necessary approvals.
○ Prepare and maintain detailed progress reports, including photographs and documentation.
- Reporting
○ Prepare and submit comprehensive site progress reports to the Project Manager.
○ Participate in site coordination meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
○ Conduct quantity surveys and prepare progress payment recommendations.
○ Manage project documentation, including permits, inspections, and correspondence.
- Knowledge Management and Sharing:
○ Provide support in documenting project challenges and lessons learned.
○ Contribute to knowledge transfer and training of project team members.
○ Adhere to CBC/CTG construction and engineering best practices, environmental management standards, and health and safety regulations.
○ Participate in relevant communities of practice and share project experiences.
- Monitoring and Progress Control:
○ Track project schedule and identify potential delays or risks.
○ Monitor site activities, including materials, labor, and equipment.
○ Participate in project stakeholder meetings.
○ Proactively identify and address quality, timeliness, and safety issues.

Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- A high school diploma is the minimum academic requirement for this role
- A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in engineering may substitute some years of required experience
- A Master’s Degree preferable in engineering may substitute some years of required experience
- A technical or professional license preferably in in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, or a similar field may substitute some years of work experience
Experience:
- With high school diploma, minimum 5 year of relevant professional construction related experience is required
- Experience in preparation of specifications, bills of quantities, costing of construction works is required.
- Work experience in the construction of health-related facilities is an asset.
- Familiarity with the UN system, humanitarian agencies and emergency response.
Language:
- Good working knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
- Working knowledge of local languages (Punjabi, Sindhi, Baluchi, Pashto, Brahui etc.) is an advantage
