Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the inspection department, ensuring that all projects are executed efficiently and in line with client expectations and company standards.
- Supervise and guide teams of engineers, technicians, and inspectors, ensuring effective use of resources and maximizing productivity.
- Monitor and improve the overall performance of operations through the implementation of best practices and continuous improvement strategies.
- Team Leadership & Resource Allocation:
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and other operational staff, ensuring they are trained and equipped to deliver high-quality inspection services.
- Allocate resources effectively, ensuring the appropriate personnel are assigned to projects based on expertise and project requirements.
- Regularly evaluate team performance and address any gaps in training or operational efficiency.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication regarding project timelines, quality standards, and any operational issues.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering solutions and advice on operational improvements and inspection services.
- Handle client inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional and timely manner to ensure client satisfaction.
- Safety & Compliance Oversight:
- Ensure all operational activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Promote a culture of safety across all teams and ensure that all lifting, inspection, and operational activities adhere to safety protocols.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify potential hazards and develop corrective actions.
- Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement:
- Identify inefficiencies in current operational processes and propose solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, improve turnaround times, and optimize resource use.
- Develop and maintain operational reports to track project progress, resource usage, and financial performance.
- Training and Development:
- Lead training initiatives for internal staff, focusing on operational best practices, client communication, safety, and technical skills development.
- Identify skills gaps within the team and organize targeted training sessions to improve employee capabilities.
- Encourage knowledge sharing and professional development to foster a skilled, knowledgeable workforce.
- Budget and Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Monitor expenses and identify areas for cost savings without compromising the quality of service or safety.
- Provide regular financial and operational reports to senior management, ensuring full transparency on operational performance and budget status.
- Quality Assurance and Control:
- Oversee the implementation of QA/QC procedures and ensure that inspection and operational activities meet quality standards.
- Ensure the team follows the correct procedures for equipment handling, testing, calibration, and certification.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of operational practices to ensure compliance with the company’s quality assurance standards.
- Strategic Planning & Reporting:
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement short-term and long-term strategic plans for the operations department.
- Provide detailed operational reports and insights to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and areas for improvement.
- Participate in strategic discussions on resource planning, project execution, and operational goals.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Professional certifications in management, safety, or engineering-related fields are preferred.
- Additional qualifications in operations management, project management, or QA/QC are advantageous.
- Experience:
- 7 to 10 years of experience in operations management, ideally within the inspection, oil & gas, petrochemical, or power generation industries.
- Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams and large-scale operational projects.
- Hands-on experience in overseeing QA/QC processes, ensuring safety compliance, and managing client relationships.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of inspection standards, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Proficient in project management software and operational management tools.
- Ability to analyze operational data and generate reports for senior management.
- Management Skills:
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, guide, and develop teams.
- Excellent resource management, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make decisions under pressure.
