About us:
We are a Chicago-based NGO providing emergency relief, post-disaster rehabilitation, sustainable development, education, healthcare, orphan sponsorship, and seasonal programs such as Ramadan iftars and Qurbani.
Position Overview:
The Finance Officer will oversee the financial operations of the Pakistan Country Office, ensuring compliance with both local regulations and organizational policies. This role involves managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and supporting the financial health of various programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight: Ensure accurate and transparent management of funds to support the implementation of programs and projects in alignment with the organization’s mission.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records for all daily transactions including tax withholding etc.
- Budget Preparation: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets for various programs and projects.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and laws, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of local and international financial policies.
- Reporting: Prepare timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, providing insights into the financial status of projects.
- Audit Support: Assist in both internal and external audits, ensuring all financial documentation is accurate and readily available.
- Monitors total project costs: Monitor the project's budget vs. expenditures for over/under spend and inform the line manager of variance reports.
- Processing of Monthly Staff Salaries: process the salary of staff and consultants according to the budget and employment agreements
- Ensure Donor Compliances: See to it that the donors’ compliance is ensured according to the reporting requirements of the donors and national and international standards
- Coordination with the Project Teams and partners: Coordination with the Field Project Teams for timely implementation of project activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, ACMA) will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the NGO sector.
- Proficiency in financial management software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
