Job Purpose:
The Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) Specialist will play a critical role in the design and implementation of effective communication strategies to promote health and hygiene behaviours, ensuring the project's success in improving health outcomes at the community level.
- BCC Strategy Development: Design and implement behaviour change communication strategies tailored to RMNCH and WASH practices for targeted communities, with a focus on women, children, and healthcare workers.
- Content Creation & Messaging: Develop culturally relevant communication materials, including brochures, posters, radio spots, and digital content, to promote positive health and hygiene behaviours.
- Community Engagement: Lead community mobilization activities, working with local partners and stakeholders to facilitate discussions, workshops, and awareness campaigns to promote behaviour change.
- Training & Capacity Building: Train and mentor community health workers, project staff, and local partners on effective BCC techniques and messaging for community outreach.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Support in monitoring and evaluating the impact of BCC activities, assessing behaviour change outcomes and adjusting strategies as needed for maximum effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with the project team, local health authorities, and community leaders to ensure that BCC strategies align with project objectives and local needs.
- Quality Control: ensure regular review of the BCC strategy, plans, approaches and tools so as to ensure their relevance and effectiveness.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports and updates on BCC activities, outcomes, and lessons learned to share with project leadership and donors.
