The Livestock Assistant will support the implementation of drought-related livestock management activities by providing technical assistance, facilitating community engagement, and ensuring the timely delivery of project interventions. The role will involve close collaboration with communities, veterinary professionals, and other stakeholders to protect and enhance the resilience of livestock during drought conditions.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Diploma in Livestock Management, Veterinary Sciences, Animal Husbandry, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in livestock health, management, or related fields, preferably in humanitarian or development projects.
- Knowledge of livestock care practices, vaccination protocols, and drought resilience strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with rural communities.
Deliverables
- Detailed livestock health assessment reports.
- Records of vaccinations, deworming, and feed distributions.
- Community awareness session plans and attendance sheets.
- Final report summarizing achievements, challenges, and recommendations for livestock-related activities.
