Job Summary:
Finance & Payment Associate is responsible for accounting and documenting all financial transactions for the project including ensuring that all organization accounting procedures are followed; budgets are adhered to as well as investigated possible cases of fraud.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and perform scheduled payment to beneficiaries runs per established due dates, sorting payments and confirming available balances before payment to beneficiaries in the field.
- Review all payment requests to ensure all required documents are matching and proper checklist is followed before payments to beneficiaries.
- Ensuring all receipts, bills, policies, invoices, and statements as required.
- Work closely with the Country office to have payments approved per set timelines and approvers’ list
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions, correspond with payment requestors and respond to all inquiries in a timely fashion
- Timely investigation of fraud cases and its reporting to supervisor
- Maintain the files for all organization documents per established system
- Assist with month end closing routines as may be required
- Provide supporting documentation for audits
- Any other task that may be assigned

Person Specification
Skills, knowledge and expertise required for the role.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance with a minimum of 2 Years of relevant experience, certifications (CA, ACCA, ICMA) partial or completed will be preferred.
- Computer literate, including word-processing, database and/or use of spreadsheet formulas and basic functions.
- Ability to understand and implement the government tax laws.
- Ability to use any accounting software
- Ability to meet the deadlines
- Ability to respond to a variety of questions relating to the job.
- Manages own time under guidance and direction from superiors.
- Spots errors and mistakes in own work.
- Adaptable and Flexible
