Job Description:

A USAID funded project is looking for a Regional Coordinator to oversee, plan and implement field activities in close consultation with the Supervisor. This role involves coordination across departments and management of field teams to ensure the effective execution of project goals.

Core Responsibilities

  • Define roles and responsibilities for each team member to enhance accountability, efficiency, and clarity in task execution.
  • Coordinate with field teams and district health authorities to ensure the successful and timely implementation of project activities.
  • Attend and coordinate meetings for district coordination, especially the Quarterly District TB Program Review Meetings in all assigned districts, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Review programmatic and financial reports related to activities in assigned districts to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide technical and managerial support to the field teams in the completion of program activities and be responsible for the management and verification of programmatic and financial reporting (monthly/quarterly) of project districts.
  • Support field staff in the selection of venues for active case finding activities with AI equipped portable Xray, in coordination with the District TB Coordinator to ensure the effectiveness of these activities and to get maximum yield.
  • Ensure field team conducts contact screening of 100 percent registered bacteriologically positive TB patients.
  • Responsible for submitting quality field visit reports within 5 working days to Supervisor including all important issues/achievements that were observed/discussed during Field visits so that timely action can be taken to address any urgent matter.
  • Provide technical and managerial support to field teams to assist in the successful completion of project activities, including managing and verifying programmatic and financial reporting (monthly/quarterly).
  • Support field staff in selecting venues for active case-finding activities using AI-equipped portable X-rays, in collaboration with the District TB Coordinator, to maximize the impact of these efforts.
  • Ensure field teams conduct contact screening for 100% of registered bacteriologically positive TB patients, following prescribed procedures.
  • Submit field visit reports within 5 working days to the Supervisor, detailing key issues, achievements, and observations, to facilitate timely follow-up actions.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the team, including briefings and debriefings, to review progress, share feedback, and address challenges.
  • Lead capacity building efforts for field teams, focusing on enhancing skills related to planning, implementation, and technical aspects of Active Case Finding (ACF), Passive Case Finding (PCF), and Enhanced Case Finding (ECF) activities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Supervisor in the preparation of district targets, quarterly progress updates, and finalization of quarterly reports.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of onboard hospitals under the HDL umbrella, ensuring adherence to program standards.
  • Assess the skills and knowledge of project staff to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for development.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs and national TB guidelines, guaranteeing compliance during daily activities.
  • Train team members on data entry procedures and emphasize the importance of accurate and timely reporting through mobile applications.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports and financial documents in alignment with project deadlines.
  • Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork, motivation, and resilience among team members.

Educational & Experience Requirements

The individual holding this position shall possess the following:

  • At least bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant field management experience and in implementing community-based programs, preferably with TB DOTS or Primary Health Care awareness activities.
  • Preference will be given to candidates having experience with health sector NGO. 
  • Preference will be given to candidates worked for a USAID funded project.
  • Preference will be given to candidates having experience in managing field team. 
  • Strong analytical and computer skills such as MS Office.
  • Ability to conduct technical analysis and data visualizations.
  • Strong knowledge for the use of gadgets and data entry.
  • Strong communication and writing skills and willingness to travel in the field.
  • Capacity to work individually and within a team.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, leadership, problem-solving, integrity, resilience, and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
