The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) is an institution of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) established by the Aga Khan Foundation in 1982. AKRSP has been working in Gilgit, Baltistan and Chitral (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan) to improve the quality of life of the people in the programme area.

AKRSP is seeking applications from highly qualified candidates to fill the following position:

Sr. Grants Officer: Core Office, Gilgit

Job Purpose:

The purpose of the grants management function is to oversee and manage the entire grants lifecycle, ensuring effective grant application processes, budgeting and forecasting, periodic grant financial reporting and budget vs actual reports, facilitate donor funded project audits, compliance with grant agreement requirements, and efficient use of grant funds to support the organization’s strategic objectives.

Job Descriptions:

  • To assist the grants manager and the CFO in undertaking overall financial management, grants financial reporting and meeting compliance requirements of the funded projects through budget vs actual reports, coordinating with the regional offices and other implementing partners and desk review of reported expenses
  • Preparation and submission of donor financial reports for review by the grants manager on time.
  • Assist in the proposal development, budgeting, and keeping an efficient track of the grant agreements and advances thereof.
  • Preparation of guidelines for eligible costs under each category as per the Partnering Agencies’ compliance covenants and dissemination to relevant stakeholders
  • Assist in the preparation, implementation and updating of the grants management information system for efficient and effective monitoring.
  • Assist in recording expenses related to other implementing partners in the books of accounts of AKRSP on a monthly/ quarterly basis.
  • Any other work assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements: 

  • Education: Master’s degree in finance, accounting, commerce, business management, CA/CMA-Inter, ACCA and any other relevant field

  • Required Experience: Candidate must have 2 years’ relevant experience preferably in an INGO or NGO

    • Technical proficiency in IT tools
    • Adaptability and flexibility
    • Proactive, creative, results-oriented and meets tight timelines.
    • Problem solving and conflict management skills
    • Excellent writing and communication skills
    • Knowledge of ERPs.
    • Hands on experience of Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and specially advanced Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of advanced tools such as MS Power BI will be an added advantage.

Note: Preference will be given to residence of Gilgit Baltistan.
