Technical Experts in Pakistan | 2024
Chemonics seeks various technical experts for the anticipated USAID/Pakistan Foundational Learning Activity (FLA). The primary purpose of the activity is to enhance student learning outcomes in reading and math and prevent school dropout by enabling teachers, head teachers, and local education administrators to improve the quality of education. The work will be either full time or consulting positions primarily based in Islamabad, Pakistan with potential travel throughout the country.

Chemonics seeks subject matter experts with experience and expertise in any of the following areas:
- Foundational Literacy and Numeracy
- Accelerated learning
- Inclusive education / Universal Design for Learning
- Support to children with disabilities
- Remedial learning
- Teaching and Learning Material Development/Teacher Professional Development
- Formative Assessment
- Education Systems Strengthening
- Community engagement
- Gender, equality and social inclusion (GESI)
- Use of technology in education
- Public-private partnerships, private sector engagement
- Low-fee private schools
- Social and behavior change communication
- Monitoring, evaluation, and learning
- CLA
General minimum qualifications for full time positions and consulting opportunities:
- University degree in education, public policy, public administration, international development, or a relevant field. Post graduate degree is preferred.
- Experience on USAID or other donor-funded programs is a plus, but not required
- Minimum of five years of experience in Pakistan, and strong understanding of one or more of the technical areas listed above in the context of Pakistan’s education sector
- Senior and mid-level experts are encouraged to apply
- Experience meeting, consulting, corresponding and/or training relevant public and private stakeholders at the national, provincial, and local levels, especially in the Punjab, KP, Sindh, and/or Balochistan province preferred.
- Written and spoken fluency in English and Urdu required, additional provincial language knowledge (Sindhi, Punjabi, Balochi and/or Pashto) are a plus.
